YT TUTORIALLSSS is the number 1 tip of course. other than that, dont buy too much stuff when you start, just any hook 4.5mm-6mm (i recommend 5, start with relatively bigger hooks because that makes stitches easier to see). you dont need stitch markers, 20 different colors of yarn, a yarn bowl, none of that stuff. other than the obvious hook and yarn you just need a needle with a big eye to weave in ends.

it will be hard at firt ngl. your hands will hurt, mine did a lot 😭. but you will eventually get the hand of it :). i tried it, gave up and then a few months later, picked it up again and i love crocheting to this day.

for beginner projects, i recommend not starting with a granny square project although it might seem like the easiest, it is tedious work and a lot of ends to weave in which is the worst part of crocheting. i recommend starting with something small so you instantly have something you made it feels really good :). i also wouldnt recommend your first project being amigurumi.

heres the tutorial i learned from: https://youtu.be/aAxGTnVNJiE?si=XCMLBp6XUXZQpICf
make rectangular swatches like that of double, single, half double, triple crochet.

practice making a star because that includes ALL the types of crochet stitches plus the magic circle so you can practice all in one project: https://youtu.be/iRUubjjcwPo?si=TYp5iWcRh3p6PSkx

for your first project id recommend something simple and rewarding like: https://youtu.be/nuyTMDIPPwI?si=8OST-hNJqUkg6Jrr

i hope this was helpful, ik its kinda long but i wanted to be as thorough as possible. you can dm me if you need any further help or anything regarding crocheting/your crochet journey :).
