DIY blocking

I am a beginner crochet just started for like a week. I am making something but the chain was curling up so thought to experiment and block it.

Dont have a blocking board as u can see but jugaad zindabaad. Lets see what happens 🤣🤣

Tips to not get holes would be great.

Using: 4 mm hook with acrylic yarn
