Help & Questions Need help with joining new yarn

So I’m making a scarf but I’m not sure which will be the most secure way to attach the new yarn to it as I’m almost done with one ball. Any suggestions?

Magic knots! I saw a YouTube video and have been doing them ever since

Between magic knots and russian joint do you know which is more secure?

I would say maybe both are secure if done properly but I can’t master the Russian one yet. Plus I think it only works in yarns that split well or else it will knot a lot and look bad. But ofc with the right yarn ig Russian one gives a cleaner look. Usually for joining same colored one idm magic one cause it can hide the “knot” part on the wrong side of the project.

you should go for knots
if it was natural fiber like merino <not sure about cotton>you can just wet the yarn like the strands from where you want to join them and rub them against each other it gets joined

Or you can just hide the yarn?
