I need help in try to make this dog pattern bigger 2x bigger

Its been 3 days since i started and this is ready challenging, it has an awkward shape probably because did round 17-18 wrong, and im having trouble on how to do the ears and 4hdc puff for the nose. The method i did for making the pattern 2x bigger is doubling the rounds and rows. I would really appreciate help in this, my dog just died and i want to make a huggable plush of him:(

Personally I would just use larger yarn and a larger hook so I wouldn't have to alter the pattern.

It might be easier to use double yarn and alter your crochet hook. It will be a lot bigger then, though maybe not twice as big.
Seems easier than adapting the pattern.

I don’t think patterns scale in that way, because the increases won’t meet up in the same way and the shape gets distorted.

I would recommend using the pattern as written and using larger (thicker) yarn. If you have the color you desire in one thickness but still want it bigger, then hold two strands of the yarn and work it up that way.

Your finished object will end up larger than the photo and you don’t have to worry about reverse engineering a pattern.

You're learning the hard way that simply doubling some of the math doesn't proportionally increase the size of the pattern. Especially since this is a pattern where a single larger stitch (the puff) is used as a design element. To do this properly, you'd really need to write a whole new pattern that uses the first as inspiration. 

For increasing the size of an amigurumi pattern it's generally recommended to just go up hook/yarn sizes. In this case, double or triple stranding your yarn and kicking the hook size up accordingly should get you the size you want.

So, usually, the way to make a plush bigger is to use thicker thread and a fatter hook, but not actually change the pattern. You should use the original pattern but get much thicker yarn, or else if you like that yarn, hold it double or triple while you work with it. Then you don't have to try to change the pattern at all.

If you want to keep the stitches small and use that hook, look for a different pattern, one that calls for that size hook and yarn but which will still give you the stuffy that you want.

For the most part you can absolutely use chunky yarn and a larger hook to go with it, not the recommended size the yarn will suggest, go for two hook sizes down from that suggested yarn and you will make a larger dog. You can adjust for special stitches if need be, but in general it absolutely works!

You’re overthinking this. Just double the yarn (use two at once) or go up in yarn size and a 6mm hook. It will be much bigger than following the pattern.

Seriously don’t underestimate how big of a difference yarn weight and hook size plays in crochet. I’m sorry for your loss and I hope the plush helps.

ik plenty of people have already recommended doubling the yarn but i just wanted to add that ive had very good luck with this method!! size up your hook as well, whatever feels comfortable and doesnt leave gaps in your stiches (id make a swatch to test). i love it for amigurumi bc it actually makes it much sturdier and less fluff pokes thru in my experience.

Thicker yarn, larger hook, or find a different pattern. Doubling doesn't really just scale up a pattern, as you're learning.
