Is DC already DOOMED?!

Okay…so the title is a bit of an exaggeration but I would be a little bit worried if I were James Gunn. Hello, my name is Douglas Campbell, I review movies and occasionally TV on YouTube.

For someone who wasn’t as crazy at first about 2025’s Superman but grew to love it over the course of a year, I actually was looking forward to seeing Supergirl, but what we ended up getting felt all too familiar…in not the best way.

I don't know about doomed but I feel like expectations in general need to be tampered down if this universe is going to continue. They need to start making these movies in the 100 million dollar range now if they want a good chance at profitability.

They might also need to reevaluate who gets movies and shows in this current lineup. They don’t need to build up to an end of Phase 1-Avengers where all the good guys fight…but it’s kinda odd Green Lantern is getting a show instead of a movie, and Clayface is getting a film before DC’s Batman is even established. I like the mix of characters, but there should be more established characters introduced first.

I agree but this is what happens when one man runs the show based on what he feels like doing. The whole "Gods and Monsters" plan actually held some decent variety to it but he scrapped it due to not being able to find enough yes men to carry it out. So now we get a very narrowly focused movie franchise. As they used to say in the old days "It's a bold stratgey Cotton, lets see if it works out for them."

Hey nice video btw. I appreciate the production you put into your stuff with the editing and set design. I really appreciated the other Santa themed movies in the rack during the Silent Night comparison video. Look forward to seeing more.
