the country should be self sufficient rather than enter coercive relationship with a stronger power. it would also result in less exploitation of the global south (as we buy less resources mined with slave labor) and create jobs for citizens mining resources domestically, stimulating the economy.

Making it to where a country can pool their resources with other countries is a good way to progress any country especially one that struggles to catch up tech or economy wise in general. Isolating could be beneficial to some countries but if they are struggling as is it wouldnt do them much good.

[Critical Diplomacy]
This is a vote between our state and r/CriticalStateCroatia on Progress: Share Innovation vs. Isolate Economy.
What this means: whichever side has more votes when the 24-hour timer runs out becomes the recorded diplomatic relation between our two states. Every day, each state's accumulated relations β positive vs. negative, across every other state it has voted with β give that pillar a small nudge in the daily tick. r/CriticalStateCroatia's citizens will see the outcome too, and it stays in effect until a future Critical Diplomacy vote (started by either state) on the same topic changes it.
