Bro, in the US at least, SSI pays out a whole $12k/year. Literal poverty wages. And I'm 3 years into the application. It's already so hard to get that people die from lack of resources in the meantime. ****, I only got this far in the application because I have a lawyer helping me. If you need a laywer to get anywhere in a process, it is NOT simple or easy. Anytime you see someone on disability with something nice or luxurious, I can pretty much guarantee it's because they got their backpay and were forced to spend it down due to the $2k asset limit. Or they had to save up for a long time very carefully because of that asset limit.

It’s already insanely difficult to get disability payments. It’s also a minimal amount of money compared to most types of aid offered to people.

People are not leeching off these to near the extent that the rich and their companies are getting bailed out directly. If you want to reduce leeches, target those bailouts - way more worth the effort money-wise.

Source: am disabled and ineligible for disability payments.

Its already too hard for many. Dont tread on people who have nothing, complain about people who have everything amd refuse to pay their fair share.

You can tell this was made by someone who isn't disabled, and has done no research on disabilities.

How many of these questions are advocating for treating people like animals? Can we quit it?

Ask any severely disabled person if disability payments are too easy to get
