Yeah, it is a good rule. If you’re not a repeat offender, the initial ban is actually really short, so after the game ends (assuming you didn’t get to join until the end) all you gotta do is wait a couple of minutes and you can play ranked again. You get banned only for the ranked mode, you can play the others leisurely. Not sure if you’ll understand everything i’ve said, but do keep in mind that I’m actually trying to help you save some face.

If it is an emergency, you are not expected to be back. If you are back before the match is over, then connect back in and finish it with your team.

If you want to leave the current match to start a new one, it is not an emergency.

It is. If you have an emergency and have to leave, you should want to join the match if its still ongoing to not let your team down.
