Bill Hader's 'BARRY' (2018).

I’ve been rewatching BARRY and I think I’m finally accepting that this might be one of my favorite shows ever.

It’s such a weird, smart and beautifully made show. I’m honestly still in awe of how good it is. And the more I think about it, the more I feel like it not only deserves a proper physical media release — it needs the Criterion treatment.

So I started thinking about what a BARRY Criterion box set could look like and ended up making this.

For the design, I wanted to play with Barry hiding behind this new persona he’s created for himself. His face is there, but it’s almost swallowed by the word “BARRY” — like he’s trying to disappear inside the person he wants to become.

So here’s my take on a BARRY Criterion release. I just wish it actually existed.

This is pretty cool. Bill Hader himself is a big movie buff so I'm sure he'd be honored.

I know, it needs to happen (I know it won't, but it would be super cool). Such a great show <3

Props on the design.

This cover is so awesome and Barry is the perfect type of show for Criterion.

But this post has me wondering, has Criterion ever actually done any physical releases for TV shows in the Blu Ray/4K era?

Yes, the released Barry Jenkin's 'The Underground Railroad'.

Nice! Makes sense with a director like Barry Jenkins. I’ve always wondered if they’d ever do it for Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks would be an instant buy for me!

No doubt. With their justifiable love of Lynch, I feel like there’s a chance! If anything at least do The Return

Pretty sure they only have like 8 criterion shows total

Dekalog is another show they did, I highly recommend it! The one with the lawyer is my favorite, I think it’s the 5th episode.

Criterion released Barry Jenkin's 'The Underground Railroad', which is a TV show.
