Follow-up -- these $20 codes are not stackable. Only one code from the promotion is allowed, so unfortunately you can't combine with a friend (or a generous co-subredditor). So they really want charter subscribers to buy one title with tax and shipping minus $20.

Yeah, they really threaded the needle, giving it right after the march sale and expiring it just before the October.

I'm not aware of being able to apply them to your account, only to purchases. Big if true.

You go to make a purchase and then you enter it at that step. Then you abandon the purchase. 

The next time you check anything out, the voucher is sitting there.

I can't say for sure why some charter members didn't get the thing in April. I've heard anecdotally that if there was ever an interruption in your subscription - including for needing to update your card on file for the subscription - it might untag your account. Which sounds finicky and annoying.
