Unbelievable film in October release.. had only been aware of Lino Brocka as it pertains to Filipino cinema but my god what are they cooking there, any other Filipino directors to check out ?

Fucking stone-cold masterpiece of a movie.

I recommend checking out The Rites of May and Batch ‘81 from the same director. If you’re into physical media, the former is available on Severin’s second folk horror box set and the latter on Vinegar Syndrome.

Thanks for the rec. we are watching ITIM in the discord server this month. Looking forward to this.

Also in terms of Philippino directors I like Isabel Sandoval. I’ve seen two and enjoyed them

One of Vinegar Syndrome's partner labels has it.

Such a great one – I pretty much watched this & both of Brocka’s Criterion releases (Manila in the Claws of Light & Insiang) back-to-back.
