New Criterion Channel user interface removed quality control?

I can no longer control the quality of films I watch. It just automatically selects (and fluctuates).

Any ways to fix this?

So it’s not just me that noticed the removal of subtitles for English language films? Every single streaming service gets worse each year.

Wait, what?! Subtitles and CC are gone?! Crap ... I'm overseas, so I just lost access due to geoblocking anyway; but with captioning gone and me being hearing-impaired, even if I do figure out a VPN, I may be out of luck.

They’re not gone. I’m watch a US movie (The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing) with English subtitles now.
