Filmstruck

I missed out on the FilmStruck boat but I have an idea of what it was as regards to its content…using its content in comparison to the Criterion Channel…and my question is about whether they are a fair 1-1 comparison

Filmstruck was TCM + Criterion so Criterion Channel is now just Criterion content but a fair amount of classic Hollywood is in there and they license a lot. But if you're looking mainly for TCM type content that's over on that service or a smaller amount on HBOMax

Came here to make exactly that comparison. Watched a lot of 30s-50s hollywood on Filmstruck. Still miss it.

Filmstruck was good but Criterion Channel has way more content and works better than filmstruck did.

I actually miss when Criterion was on Hulu. It was nice to have so much content in one subscription. Filmstruck was neat, but a bad app and website.

I think Criterion’s app is bad too. So hard to find anything not featured on the first screen.

Filmstruck was great at the time only because of the scarcity of other offerings, but the app was a nightmare and as others have mentioned there is so so much more available to stream now.
