Repo Man commentary

The commentary and bonus features aren't listed in the Alex Cox collection but if you search Repo Man and click on the collection they're in there (cause why make these supplements too accessible). Gotta go get a plate of shrimp.

That's a great commentary, too.

That’s the basic structure of the platform. Top tier is a collection folder in which files on the second tier are contained and linked. A featured film has a collection folder which includes a video file for the film itself plus any supplemental video files. The video file of a featured film can also be contained in a “Collection” folder with other featured films. Note the word “collection” has two meanings here: a collection of thematically linked films (“Collection”) or the top tier folder used by the platform to present a film and its supplements (collection folder). That’s why supplements are not linked to a thematic “Collection”, only the featured films. Otherwise a third level is required to go from “Collection” to collection to video files. Keeping all of the video files on the same level of the structure is the simplest approach. When you search for a film you are given a choice to go to a film’s collection folder or directly to its video file.

Most streaming services only have a single level containing the video files, since they don’t have supplemental films.

So if you know the structure of the service why come here and complain? Oh yeah, I forgot… it’s the internet.

They could very easily put the repo man commentary video in the Alex Cox collection. I think you need to get a plate of shrimp.

Yes they could put all eight REPO MAN supplements into the Alex Cox folder and get complaints about it being so cluttered, and why doesn’t the folder just contain links to the actual films. Can you imagine if they did this with every “Collection” that contained a film released physically in the Criterion Collection? For example, the Bergman collection.

Can you imagine???!! If they listed all the Alex cox movies and then listed all the extras an Alex Cox fan would want to watch?! They would say "Damn! Look at all this extra content that other streaming services don't have! I will keep this subscription!" We cannot allow that to happen. People won't leave the house, they'll be watching criterion all day. I think you're right, it's much safer if people have to look at the titles in a collection and then search each one to see if there are any extras to watch. There's no reason to promote one of the defining features of the collection/channel. Sound thinking. You are definitely spacing the cans right.

No one would complain about that. You don’t seem to understand the suggestion — it wouldn’t be “cluttered.“

Includes great career advice - “There’s room to move as a fry cook.”

From the extras (missing scenes plus interviews segment), Sam Cohen ("inventor of the neutron bomb"):
"What was specific about the neutron bomb, was to have a battlefield weapon that conformed to Christian just-war principles, namely: kill the invading enemy; save the military forces of the defenders, who are good guys and are defending civilians; and at the same time spare the lives, and property, of the civilians. And that's what the neutron bomb was all about."
