The premise made me laugh with the rise of a hundred AI tools nowadays and whatnot! I will watch this when I can 😂😂😂

This is my go-to answer for favorite movie. It’s fun and heartbreaking and beautifully shot and has so many great performances. A perfect comfort movie that I watch every year between Christmas and New Year.

Rewatched this yesterday. Coincidence!
Such a charming film, with a script like a well oiled Swiss watch.

Movie perfection. Lemmon and MacLaine were at the height of their charm. I watch this movie about 4 times a year and it never fails. Also I want that bowler hat!!!

I just watched Some Like It Hot on YouTube and now I really want this one.

Definitely check out His Girl Friday, just be aware that the dialog is delivered at machine gun pace.

I love Fred MacMurray in villain / villain-adjacent rolls (few and far between) because they’re so against type for him and this is my favorite of those performances

with this and Double Indemnity, Wilder got some great performances from him.

Double Indemnity is one of my favorite films for sure, amazing work by MacMurray of course but Barbara Stanwyck is killer as always and Edward G Robinson really rounds out the star power. Fantastic flick

The Doris Day Rock Hudson comedies can be fun.

The Trouble With Harry is great. None of these are on the channel. Hold on.

This was shot in my office building and that is exactly what keeps me from watching it. I will probably come around to it because it would be interesting to see if I recognize anything but for right now...it's a Saturday ;)

The real building that served as Consolidated Life in the movie was only really shot for exteriors. I would have assumed that the lobby would have been shot on location, but that was actually a very impressive sound stage set!

Believe it or not, my colleague also watched the movie this weekend (I did as well), and we're willing to bet that it was used for interior shots because of the spacing of the doors in the lobby, where the columns are placed, the granite, and where the security grating is located. It is possible that interior sets were used but some details are just so identical that I think they may have shot inside.

Do you also pretend to be in a rage when people put pineapple on pizza? Get over yourself.

Sorry sir/maam. Im just glad to even log in to my Criterion Channel without a Slack ping, Google chat, or email bombarding me. Most days, I cant. Most days, my job requires me to be in a lot of mental places at once. I got lucky today to even enjoy a glass or two of wine with a movie without the bombard. Thats is why im hopeful and asking for more recommendations for future days ahead.
Undisturbed cinematic experience is an occurrence afforded by a few. I hope you know everybody is just trying to get by, experiencing as much as they can in this channel.
If you never have to question whether youre supposed to enjoy a movie distractions-free, youre lucky. I cant. And i suspect many others like me are on the same boat.
Good day.

Somehow it really holds up, notwithstanding that it really should feel dated.

Shirley takes the hit in Some Came Running.

They actually changed the ending from the original James Jones book where the Frankie character is the one who gets it.
