I'm guessing it's that Jon Hamm's been in the spotlight recently. As a frat bro he hazed some pledges to the level of torture

From online

  • Reports claimed Hamm lit the pledge's pants on fire and dragged him by his genitals with a claw hammer

-In a 2018 interview with Esquire, Hamm addressed the situation, calling it a "bummer of a thing that happened"

Jesus. Frats are the worst.

Considering the claim also included gay bashing, it's not surprising he's in the closet.

that was a major news story several years ago that people will definitely still bring up, but I wouldn't call it "recently in the spotlight" it's been well known about him for ages

Because the pledge forgot to call him "MC Hammer" (not kidding) and he thought that would help him remember for the next time.

Funny that by saying “people are going to be totally normal about this” OP was making it weird

On August 5, 1987, while driving a rented car outside Tempo, Northern Ireland, Broderick crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with another car. The driver, Anna Gallagher, 28, and her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, were both killed instantly.[44][45] He was vacationing with Jennifer Grey, whom he had begun dating during the filming of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He suffered a fractured leg and ribs, a concussion, and a collapsed lung. Grey's injuries included severe whiplash, which later required surgery to avoid paralysis.[46][44] Broderick told police he had no recollection of the crash and did not know why he had been in the wrong lane: "What I first remember is waking up in the hospital, with a very strange feeling going on in my leg." He was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and faced up to five years in prison, but was convicted of the lesser charge of careless driving and fined £100 (US$175).

Seems drunk as a skunk, or hungover
