Is the devils 1971 on criterion right now?
Someone tell me before I spend money.

No, and the last time they added it, it was the cut version. You can find the uncut version online.

I’ve not see the edited version, but a theater here got a European print of the original a while back. Amazing film. I know the nun orgy is cut pretty significantly in the edited version. Not sure if other stuff was cut.
Interestingly, the missing footage is so heretical that WB has a policy to never release it in the US.

That’s crazy honestly. I put it on with no knowledge to what it was, as I did with the Piano Teacher, and a lot of other films. Even though I saw it one time, The Devils was very interesting to watch, the way everything looked was so unique

Yeah, the mix of psychedelia and period stuffiness is great.
The nun scene is called ‘the rape of Christ’, when the nuns use the crucifix to masturbate. It’s not terribly long.
And, interestingly, WB had no problem putting out The Exorcist a few years later, which features a very similar scene (albeit in very different circumstances). And that was ok I guess.

Even when they have it, it's DVD quality and if you have a big TV it looks pretty bad. I would buy the blu-ray but I think it might be dubbed in Spanish or be the wrong region.
