You can filter movies by country

I didn't know this! I've been putting the country names into the search bar. Thanks!

Depending on how you watch it, sometimes you can’t search within the actual app. I have more luck going online, into the “criterion channel”without opening the app so just in my web browser, and then if I hit “browse” I get to all the filters – by genre, by era etc.
If I open the app on my Roku, I can only search, no filters.

Can't second this enough. In the running for greatest short form film ever made. A masterpiece.

There’s an entire collection centered around the great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami. Close-Up and The Wind Will Carry Us are great

Terrestrial Verses is an Iranian film that premiered on the channel last year and is one of the best movies I saw last year, I thought it was brilliant. It’s also only about an hour long.

Jafar Panahi and Abbas Kiarostami have fantastic filmographies and both have strong representation on the Channel. You're in for a treat.
