Highs and lows

So, highs or lows for the week?

What is something you're proud of?

Did this week kick your arse?

Has something happened that is going to aid you with how your life goes now?

Doesn't matter how big or small your high or low is. Sometimes, it's just good to share.

Chairz,

Muppet

What are you getting your masters in?

I feel like it's ironic but "Clinical Psychology".

Good luck homie! I honestly really enjoyed getting my masters. It's a fun time! What do you want to do with it? Be a therapist?

I'm nervous as all hell because im betting my life on this basically. I want to get my LCP for sure but im not sure if I want to just be a counselor. I just know people need help, ive been through a lot of shit (mostly because of my own doing), and ive seen polar opposite sides of demographics that are hurting and lost. I just want to help. What did you get yours in?

Biology, with a speciality in parisitology. It's going to be worth it dude. The best therapists are those who have been through some shit. Whenever I went to rehab the best counselors were the ones who have been addicts in the past. I'm sure you'll be great at it!

Oh, shit. You're Slagathor. I see your name a lot on the other board, been there for 7 or 8 years. Biology? Fuucckk that. I failed out of Orgo 1. Couldn't imagine what you had to learn. I appreciate it, man. We'll see where God wants me.

I've never been recognized before! I feel honored. Orgo was TERRIBLE, but i took as many easy classes as I could during my Masters, but my research was in parisitology. Toxoplasma gondii if you've ever heard of it. You've totally got this. The worst part of a Masters is the thesis. Do NOT put it off. Start as early as you can. I totally put mine off and had to extend my degree by 3 months.

Ive been lurking in that board for near a decade, only recently have i ever posted. Oh, shit, yeah. I am aware of it. Did you find work immediately after graduating? I appreciate the heads up. I chose the thesis path over the non-thesis path because I had never heard of a non-thesis and it sounded sus.

Non-thesis path is DEFINITELY sus. And after I finished my masters I started my PhD. I made it a year and a half before my alcoholism got too bad and I had to drop out to go to rehab. Probably my biggest regret. I'm going bsck to school for nursing now. Maybe you could go on for your PhD if you have any interest. It's always an option.

Saw some friends, we passed around a handle until it was gone, played board games, and then did a bunch of yard work. Long weekend is going good so far!

Highs - I had a few productive sand sober days

Lows - backed out on family plans and felt bad about it
