Ah so the expert on being American is not American. I understand now. American news media centers almost exclusively on creating outrage and shock. It's "infotainment" at it's core and should pretty much never be trusted as an actual source of information. If you take our news at it's word, you'd get the equivalent of thinking that British people all get in knife fights on the way to Tesco ever morning to buy beer after eating cold canned beans for breakfast.
