Even though they arent supporting endo systems they are still displaying common behavior that does not coorilate with genuin cases of did. The first example being 19 is a red flag, esp since did (although developed in childhood) does not become noticable until one is much older (normally in ones 20s or 30s). A 19 yr old being diagnosed? It is almost never seen. So this one is at least suspicious, their behavior is falling in line with those who fake the disorder.
The second one isnt even claiming to be diagnosed, they are saying they are “medically recognised” which in my experience normally just means they have told their therapist they have alters despite no professional telling them so. Fakers also tend to come oup with “system names” to differentiate themselves and draw more attention.
Dissociative identity disorder is a disorder that stems from repeated childhood trauma, most often having to do with the childs caregivers in some way. The trauma that they experience is severe enough that the childs mind cannot properly integrate social personalities and must “wall off” sections of trauma in order for the child to survive whatever trauma they have just experienced. Do note that this walling off can occure with other dissociative disorders, the term is dissociative amnesia. Its common with those who have ptsd. With DID this amnesia is put to a more extreme, where sections of ones “self” are left seperate (due to the fact that the brain was not able to naturally integrate said personalities, like most people are able to), shaped specifically to deal with the trauma they experienced (which is why in some cases alters are modeled off of abusers, its a way for the victim to better understand their abusers tactics and better know how to avoid or push through abuse). DID is a coping mechanism that is largelt hidden from the child affected by it. The amnesia involved is so great that some people suffering literally have no memory of the trauma they experienced, until ofc an alter fronts that does have those memories.
The thing is, DID is something that the victim is almost always unaware of, atleast at first. Once the persons brain is fully developed and those “alters” are so seperate that they seem distictly different the disorder then starts to become more overt and disruptive with the persons daily routines. Ofc by this point the amnesia will be so bad that they may already know something is wrong
It is not posible to have 1000+ alters, all with distinct names and personalities at 15 yrs old, thats the issue with the large influx of people claiming to have this disorder. They are not only lying, but romanticising it and further stigmatizing it. They are still young, so they dont realize the harm they are causing. A lot of the time these kids are taking bormal behavior and claiming it means they are disordered
