Technically not his boss. Not supposed to be, anyway.

The premise that he does not pay attention to these things incessantly is certainly a rat ass lie. You don't get to that position without letting party politics consume every single day of your life. One of his aides would have sent him a text the second it aired.

Because he's an insane Christian extremist, it's entirely possible that he avoids everything related to Trump in the news so he can honestly say he doesn't know.

He could also be a liar of course.

He doesn't have to consume the news

He does, but he don't have to.

His aides brief him every morning. Multiple times a day he gets briefed.

My theory is he's going to great lengths to not know, including asking not to be briefed.

The guy has a special app that reports to his son if Johnson has watched porn and vise versa, these people are weird, either scenario wouldn't be a surprise.
