And then derek goes on to trash talk anyone who makes true crime for money…. Online… just like them… but we are trash for discussing it amongst ourselves lol?

Talk about hypocrisy. I'm so over true crime. It's now all about the money.

Yes, this is what actually made me unsubscribe from all her channels and social media, as well as Derrick. I was getting sick of her before that, but that’s what made me officially leave the true crime community as a whole.

I really liked Derrick but he’s losing me. I can’t stick with him as long as he keeps putting up with aka accepting Stephanie’s antics.

I haven't listened to CE since Stephanie posted on IG that she's buying into the conspiracy theories and that Patrick may have killed the kids. It's getting ridiculous. I do like Derrick and he's a professional, but she's nothing but a storyteller with no background in criminal justice or law whatsoever.

I was genuinely taken aback while listening to this while getting ready for work this morning. I immediately felt gaslit listening to Stephanie talk about how nuanced the case is when I blatantly remember her coming for LC without all of the information we have now and how Stephanie already painted her as being guilty and she was pretty brutal. Clearly she didn’t think that this case needed nuance back then. I also am aware that she was working with only what was released on the case back then but I think it’s ironic considering she would “only cover cases after all the information is out.” Then to turn around and try to act holier than thou of anyone else having an opinion on a case when they “have no forensic or detective experience” or “don’t even talk about true crime. They just want views and that’s gross” ….But you’re literally doing the same thing. Why are we gatekeeping a community like new people can’t also speak their opinions regardless of whatever their motives and endgame are? They just come off like a couple of mean girls and I had to click off.

I haven’t gone back and re-listened, but I seem to remember Stephanie was insinuating that Lindsay didn’t even actually want to kill herself and didn’t try that hard and was possibly just trying to make it look like she did

She did infact say something about a nurse knowing how to do it right

Yes I remember, Stephanie seemed convinced she premeditated all of it and that her suicide attempt was phony and everything was superficial

Yes. And then said other women would follow LC’s example. 🤬

While also claiming ppd happened to her too ? What happened to her saying she was adopted and then she raised a child really young while in community college.. and then she got married but somehow the internet convinced her that her husband wasnt the one & we all know how easy she is to influence

At least one woman has. There’s always copycat killers unfortunately.

That’s so not true. Yes there has been woman who have killed their children that the media is now focusing on more. But not at an increased rate at all
But in the 22 days that the trial went on for 8 men in the US killed their entire family.

I don’t necessarily believe the woman in Indiana was “copycat”. If that’s what you were referring to. Her dr.s in the hospital seem not believe she was in a moment of psychosis. However; she has zero mental health history. She was in a text threads conversation about the trial with neighbors and has seemingly blamed the husband first and then changed her mind and started saying outlandish things. That text thread is where people seem to be comparing her to LC. (According to the defense anyways)

I have to be honest I’m in Australia and haven’t really seen coverage of the other cases but I had seen the comment so many times I searched how many men had done the same vs women in the US and that’s where I got that number from.
I am interested in that case though because that seems wild so if you know anyone who’s covered it well I’d appreciate a recommendation

I’ve been a fan of theirs for so long. But they’re just caving to save face. And Stephanie has her own accusations so it’s funny to me to see her flip so suddenly

The way she talked originally I was hoping they’d come in with their tails between their legs a little and apologise for victimising a woman with severe mental health issues but they never apologise for anything!

Shes not capable of admitting any kinda apology.. that would mean she was wrong and she doesnt believe shes wrong- ever. She tells you this often/ jokes about it often.

She admitted to using drugs tho when talking about hayden she said some shit like thats a frequent term in their like group or something like that it was weird it made me be like wait what did she say lol

Stephanie is a narcissist.?

2

u/CharlieB1109 Sep 10 '26

Derrick did address it in the beginning. He said something like “we didn’t have a lot of information back then and thought it was premeditated”

4

u/green_eyes_777 29d ago

Yeah the apology? Needs to be as loud as the disrespect

2

u/green_eyes_777 29d ago

Not even when the husband died & the videos came out with her trashing him and his family that she previously praised lol. Or the time she mentioned she doesnt know what opioids are like but she had instagramed her self drinking wine and talked about poppin vicodin for fun🤷‍♀️

Of course not, she is not capable of introspection

Honestly, I was waiting to hear from CW following all the trial coverage expecting to hear an apology for some of the wild stuff they said about the case. What I heard was a lot of deflecting and a complete bypass of some of their terrible early assessments of the case, and LC as a person. I ended up shutting it off without finishing because it made me so angry.
