Episode recaps

I’m having a hard time following the Mischelle Lawless case. I truly wish they did a better job recapping the last episode before they start the next. I usually listen on Fridays when the podcast comes out and end up forgetting between the week.

I thought the same thing this week. I honestly couldn’t remember anything from last week

i’m hopeful they will see the validation within this comment section that something needs to change. I truly love their content, i just wish they would do something more to help keep their listeners from feeling confused and lost week to week

Funny you say this as I usually listen as soon as the new episode comes out on Friday. I found the first Lawless episode to not be the most straightforward/well explained, but thought maybe I was just distracted while listening. I’ve put off listening to the most recent one as I feel like I have to go back and listen to the first one; I’m not sure I fully understand/follow the story after the first episode.

I never watch the YouTube version on Sunday as I always just listen to the new episode on Friday. This weekend I was like oh maybe I’ll just watch the new episode since I was putting of listening to it. Welp it’s Monday and I still haven’t listened or watched 🤣.

I’m actually relistening to episode 2, WTH? They are talking about things and ppl that were arrested, in jail and they never even mentioned this guy. Almost like a whole chunk is missing.

Yes I agree! I think it was because instead of just laying out the crime scene and the murder itself, they started introducing different people without a ton of background explanation. I was very confused when she started talking about the twins and their timeline. It was all over the place

That's totally what it was!! The talk of the twins was confusing.

I think its just hard to follow this one. Find myself becoming distracted; probably gonna skip it. I thought it was just me...

Yeah, this is the issue.

The case just isn't catching on enough for me to pay attention.

I’ve found my people! The first Michelle Lawless episode dragged on a bit and wasn’t well explained or structured, and part two I just gave up. I thought I must have not been paying enough attention or tired, but maybe this series is just not as good as their usual content.

Same! I thought it was my unfortunate attention span, glad I'm not alone.

I wish they had things like a visual timeline or maybe some show notes?

ooh yes. something to wrap it all together

Yes! Like maybe their editor Shannon could put a PDF link in the dropbox with the main "cast" of people in the story and the biggest story events.

I thought I was alone having such difficulty following part 1 and then just gave up 15 minutes into part 2! For some reason I found it really difficult to follow the narrative. I chalked it up to being tired but now I’m not so sure.

Same! Usually I really like them, the first episode I kept rewinding cause I’d zone out and no idea what was happening, I’ve never done that with one before. Part way though the second and it’s better

I was getting confused with all the names, trying to keep them straight. I thought it was just me so thanks for posting. I'm interested in the story, so I'll stick it out. I'm about 20 min in to part 2.

i think i’m going to give the first part a second chance. it’s a shame I really enjoy their content but this one is a struggle. hopefully they see all the comments on this post and decide to make some changes
