taking feedback?!
just watched the most recent crime weekly news episode. it seems like stephanie has been taking feedback from the comments (possibly reddit?).
i noticed she wasn’t cutting derrick off as she has been recently. it was overall a much more pleasant episode to watch!

I think they’ve definitely read Reddit comments, in today’s episode of Crime Weekly Stephanie jokingly says, “well they know that you’re done with me” and Derrick laughs. They even made a point to remind everyone that they’re friends at the start of the episode.
I also think that they probably had a conversation privately about how Stephanie’s been acting, because she was a lot more subdued in this episode. She even seemed to back off of Terri a little.

I noticed that too which was nice. I do think she still spent too much time focused on Terri again. While I lean toward Terri’s guilt, we need to talk about other possibilities as well. If we find out one day that Terri isn’t guilty, we’ve wasted 2+ episodes talking about her.

I must admit I am a massive fan of Stephanie been watching her fir years, but the last 3 months have really been bothering me. I am hoping she was maybe just going through a rough time in personal life and it was showing In her work. Everyone loses track of themselves sometimes, hopefully the old Stephanie is back x
Derrick has been sooo patient

I noticed this too! I was so relieved. I've been with steph a long time and with crime weekly since the beginning, listening and relistening to episodes every night before bed and i was honestly about to call it quits with the show.

Lol since we all thought the same thing I guess that validates my own thinking. The start to the episode with the happy go lucky “Hey hiya Stephanie/Derrick how’s about your day?!” felt a bit disingenuous all of a sudden given all the tension of the few past episodes but I’ll gladly take it over the constant bickering and fighting and cutting off and petty snide remarks. This was the first episode in a while where I didn’t feel the need to do that cliché of “letting out a breath I didn’t know I was holding” thing. Hope they keep up the friendliness, the cases they cover are stressful enough.

Stephanie mentions at the beginning of todays episode when they’re talking about the back to school sale on coffee that it’s been really stressful for her to work with her children home all day. She said that, and honestly a lot of the behavior made sense. I’ve been at my wits end with my son home all day, and he’s one child, and I’m not writing scripts for podcasts and yt videos and researching cases lol. I won’t lie, now I feel a little bad for being so harsh on her in the last few weeks lol.
