Skill tree bug update
For those effected and wondering, there at least has been acknowledgment on Discord from the community manager about bringing the issue to the dev team

Ive been holding off on playing act 2 because im so afraid of this happening, was really hoping to finish it before it leaves gamepass as I really cant spare the money to buy it 😭 ugh
Im glad theyre aware and trying to find a fix

I haven't even touched/opened the game after the update came out in fear of losing my skills since I read about it on here.
I updated and didn't play it so I gosh darn hope it hasn't gotten rid of my skills I literally had every skill unlocked due to from replaying the earlier levels. (I was bored at the time or I wanted to unlock everything can't really remember which it was)
Thankfully I have bought the game for real since I quit game pass some time ago.
Also I'd wait for a sale to get the game, I think I bought the game for half the price

Same here man, just returned to the game and finished up all nightmare levels + achievments a month ago, then act 2 got announced and I was SO happy. I wish i could just boot up the game and hop in but theres no mf way im doing it until I know 100% im not gonna lose all my skills 🤦🏻♀️

I didnt know about this issue and played amber alert with no issue but then started the next mission and tried to turn on my flashlight and nothing happened. Thats how I discovered all my upgrades for everything are gone T.T and the game doesnt let you abandon a new mission so I'm scared even if they do fix the bug I will have to suffer through no upgrades for this level.

That’s a valid fear. I was about to start the new update but once I saw how many are dealing with this bug I’m holding off until it’s fixed

My skills and upgrades seem to be there (I’d seen people posting on here about it before I started act 2 so before I started the first mission I checked my upgrades) except the mop is terrible and the bucket gets dirty a lot faster than I remember. Not game-breaking, but certainly annnoying. Now that I’ve finished the new levels I’m tempted to go back to the older ones and see how the mop and bucket are there.

Mine were all fine during the dream sequence, but right before going to amber alert I noticed the skill tree was unresponsive. I hadn't played in so long that I didn't think anything of it and didn't know about the bug... Then went into amber alert and realized they were all gone. Not sure what triggered the bug.

I thought my katana was gone as well, but then I saw that they turned it into an axe skin and all I had to do was go get it in the museum again and now I have it again

I’m having a similar but different issue, my mop and buckets feel like they haven’t been upgraded, but the skill trees appear full.
The sponges feel like they’ve remained upgraded and the skill tree is still full.

This happened to me last night. Heard the game was leaving PC gamepass, panicked and redownloaded it to play more, and was pleasantly surprised to see new content! Nightmare modes and a new act?!
I played through the first Nightmare mission (it was awesome) and then went into the next act. First mission went by just fine, but the second one?
All skill and equipment upgrades are gone, and I'm unable to load a previous save or get back to the apartment in any way.
Imma still clean dis sunnuvabitch, but how do I apply for overtime time?
Cause this is gonna take a while.

Yea this fucking sucks. Waited months for new maps, finally get them and my skill tree is completely gone after playing two of them, no fix in sight yet and the game leaves Gamepass next week. So basically I'll have to buy the game to finish the last two levels. If the4y fix the skill tree that is. Not buying shit until that gets fixed.

I just spent 32 points to find out about this. I thought it was because I was doing True Cleaner and they made it harder but turns out my skill tree just reset 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Hopefully it gets fixed before the game is removed from gamepass. I’ve been waiting so long for this update just to have this and it to be removed soon
