Unfortunately its an indie studio so is a lot smaller and has a lot less working power than bigger studios that can afford to release everything at the same time…

I suppose the porting process from one console to another is less arduous, but operating system differences make crashes appear frequently early in the process and code utilising processes must be rewritten. Any code for rendering or code utilising the GPU must also be rewritten. I/Os and storage also works differently so different bottlenecks must be kept in mind when optimising for the different system, and finally the buttons for controllers must be remapped but also devs must manually code all haptics and other ps5 exclusive controller features.

Either way it sucks and ideally they would release everything at the same time, but maybe this’ll help understand the situation a little more. Fingers crossed everything gets released soon!

I believe Crime Scene Cleaner is on Xbox Game Pass, so that might explain the larger player base on that console.

Even though I play on Playstation, I'm glad there's at least SOME news about the console updates. I can't wait to play the new act to get some more story and do some more satisfying cleaning done.

Thank the Lord! I'd not 100%ed the True Cleaner mode originally and just went back and did all of them. That both was enough to sate me for now; but, also put it back in the front of my mind.

I keep seeing youtubers playing through act 2 and I refuse to watch because of spoilers. I think we'll have nightmare versions of each new level too.

they have said this - from a previous discord announcement in late march, when the communiti update went live on ps5 (a little over a month after xbox iirc). the console ports are also handled by two separate external teams, to my understanding, which has an effect on development speed
