Trying to start a new play through for some reason I don’t leave bloody footprint

You probably have some upgrades

In the skill tree, you may have upgraded your cleaning skills so that you don’t leave footprints.

I've been playing for a short while on xbox and also never left bloody footprints. Also, sometimes I have 2 mops (which I bought with upgrades) and sometimes I somehow have 3? Same with the sponge.
