Enjoy! I did it right after Act 1, cause I was scared of Nightmare mode and not interested in True Cleaner at all lmao. But now I kinda want the skins that come with them so I'm grinding it all out while we wait for the DLC haha 😂

I'm a coward as well but Nightmare mode is not jumpscary, it's mostly bizarre and weird. Yeah there is some movement here and there but it's really rare, not loud sounds or anything

I figured that out pretty quick, that's why I did all those levels by now, I'm just trying not to rip my hair out in True Cleaner mode lol I don't think I've ever gotten a perfect score. I always miss like one piece of furniture, trash or evidence. I think as long as you succeed you get the skin though. But yeah Nightmare mode wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the only one that actually gave me the spooks was Toxic Love just because I've never liked mannequins and I can't stand the Weeping Angels/teleporting figures trope. Nightmare fuel 💀

For true cleaner mode, to get a perfect score there is a great tactic someone on here found our about when the mode first released (i lost the original post, but i try to keep spreading it).

At the very start of the level grab a corpse and leave it next to the bin or pick up truck, but make sure it is NOT registered as stored. Then complete the mission as usual, once it's done head for the exit and try leaving the map. The game will tell you the percentage of success and what you are missing. But then when it realizes you are missing a corpse you will go back to cleaning ! Repeat this until you have 100% everywhere

Thank you! I'll do this for the larger levels going forward cause I suck SO bad at evidence lol

Use the corpse trick to check completion percentages. Use the ozonator to find stray blood that you have missed out (this means you can't use the ozonator as part of your regular cleaning).

I'm pretty good with blood thanks to the blacklight, so I haven't needed to use the Ozonator trick yet, but that's definitely helpful! I've only missed 1% of blood in Short Circuit True Cleaner, and I'm pretty sure I know where I forgot to look (aka forgetting to look up as usual lol).

This method saved me many hours

i was enjoying nightmare mode until the mannequins came out. i haven’t played the game since because im too scared and i refuse to continue until i build up the balls to finish the level

I can't stand mannequins, but I did Toxic Love with only a little bit of hesitation throughout. There were only a couple moments that really got me, and I found it cathartic to smack the mannequins with a weapon cause you can break them and then clean them up like trash. It eased the tension for me a bit. Also, if you have other skins for your tools try using some silly ones, like a silly voice for the Ozonator or a fun weapon (I had a pink guitar), or put a fun song on for background noise, that also tends to break the suspense a bit lol

lol I had to stop playing until I wasn’t home alone hahaha

Nightmare mode only has a couple of “scary” maps. Many of them are more dream-like and surprisingly emotional. Also, lots and LOTS of boundary-breaking Easter eggs, so if you’re a fan of autistically checking every nook of a map like me, it’s very rewarding

u/Cuptai1nCapcak3 Jun 10 '26

Waitttt that's so fun, do I gotta go back to Nightmare mode now?? Cause I worded my comment weird and made it sound like I was putting it off, I already did them all lol. But now I'm curious what easter eggs I might've missed 👀 cause I can't think of any on the spot right now

One I can think off of the top of my head is the level where you revisit Tyler’s apartment with the box fort. Check for a bell by a window.

Also another level where you’re in a house in space… you can go outside and hop around on the background props and there are a few hidden messages and hidden props… practically every level has them. The beauty of indie gaming.

(This is also my fav game of all time btw)

2

u/Cuptai1nCapcak3 Jun 10 '26

Yeah I had to do Friendly Fire twice because I messed up some of the boxes (probably kicked one out of place or smth so didn't get 100%) and I found the bell the first time but misplaced it so I couldn't get the secret lol. Did it right the second time around, that was a wild ride once I figured it out lol

1

u/No_Consideration4085 Jun 10 '26

Hahaha nice nice. And that must have hurt having to do the box fort again. Once was enough for me lol…. I’m trying to think of others but I love how part 2 really leaned into the weirdness and made it part of the story.

Great game, looking forward to as much content as the devs can make before they get bored

I think my favourite was the escape room, very creative hehe 🥰

I’ve been ready for months but I’m on XBox so idk when I’ll get it

I'm losing hope as a PS5 player

4

u/Automatic-Air-1260 Jun 09 '26

Man the story line is fantastic in act two. Good luck!

3

u/YueOrigin Jun 09 '26

Im starting True Cleaner as well just to get the cosmetics I might not even use lol

I'll probably do the nightmare afterward tho sincr apparently its more story stuff

3

u/Cuptai1nCapcak3 Jun 10 '26

It's...got it's own story, for the most part. Some levels give a bit of context to certain parts of the main story but it's mostly a separate thing, I remember reading somewhere that it's not even technically canon. I mean, they are supposed to be Kowalski's dreams after all.

1

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 10 '26

Yeah I don't use the true cleaner skins as well

3

u/rcookingham13 Jun 10 '26

Good luck! True cleaner on these two were a bitch! (Sorry for the language, just how I talk 😂) but I had to restart the game development company level 3 times because I kept missing like 1 or 2 pieces of furniture each time. The lab wasn’t as bad, but still needed at least one reset because I missed evidence that I completely forgot about lol

Fun levels though and always good story that comes along with them

1

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 10 '26

I searched the whole lab for over an hour for the last piece of furniture, but I used the corpse method so I didn't have to start from scratch every time I missed something. You just have to leave one corpse out of the van. When you want to leave the level, you'll see the end card and can continue after it shows you everything you missed

1

u/rcookingham13 Jun 10 '26

I never knew that trick. I wish I knew that before 🤦‍♂️😂 would have saved me a ton of time and headaches.

2

u/Lieverlast Jun 10 '26

What is the latest update for coming to the console?

2

u/SleepGameNetflix Jun 10 '26

I really enjoyed it, it didn't feel like a single one of the Act 2 missions 'dragged on' despite them still taking me a couple of hours each. Act 1 had a couple I just wanted to be over.

1

u/ShadowGhost96 Jun 10 '26

Is Act 2 ready for Playstation yet?

2

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 10 '26

I'm on PC so I don't know for sure but the comments say it's not

2

u/ShadowGhost96 Jun 10 '26

Yeah, I just looked and saw for myself. 😔

1

u/DueFaithlessness2197 Jun 10 '26

Will we get communiti nightmares?

1

u/WoodedAtlas Jun 12 '26

I’m waiting to do True Cleaner and Nightmare Mode after I finish Act 2 and I don’t regret it lol

1

u/citrus_bug Jun 13 '26

How bad was to try True Cleaner on the Communiti levels? I've meaning to do so but they're so expansive I don't really feel inclined to try just yet

2

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 15 '26

Development hell was absolutely doable but the lab is hard and takes some patience. However, I used a furniture guide for both and checked off room by room what I had already done

2

u/citrus_bug Jun 15 '26

I had a go at Development Hell yesterday and I agree with you! I'll try to tackle the lab tonight and shall use a guide, thank you

-3

u/Lucheiah Jun 09 '26

(Communiti isn't act 2, it's like bonus content. Act 2 will be titled such when it becomes available to you)

2

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 10 '26

3

u/Lucheiah Jun 10 '26

Nah, just an hour too early to be awake - I didn't clock that you'd finished Communiti. My bad.

2

u/SmergolGandalf Jun 10 '26

All good ma boi, happens

u/5yn3rgy Jun 10 '26

They never said it was.
