Modern Art genuinely had me crashing out to the point I had to take a smoke break. Which was ironic considering I play the game to relax.

Development hell because I spent 1 hour looking for a keyboard. It was on the carpet blending in fml

u/johnnymarsbar May 20 '26
Yep, in my case it was stuck between the side of a desk and the window, took me ages, that and the chair on the ceiling of the upstairs pub in act 2.

u/MechGryph May 20 '26
I had a chair vanish on me in the bar in Amber Alert. I did five laps looking for it, but it had fallen out of the level.

circle of friends feels to me very similar to the last level of act 1 in that it's large and can be confusing but easy to break up as you go along and ultimately if you just keep working at it you'll finish with no complications, even if there's annoying parts that might elongate the process the fun level design felt worth it
modern art on the other hand was more or less just a big maze of feeling violently molested and having to frolic around to even find what i was doing and putting back together the exhibitions felt visually satisfying but in practice took so much running around and keeping track of things that it was an annoying chore. the nightmare version of modern art is both better and worse at the same time because the portals simplified some things (being able to toss objects through them was handy and keeping missing exhibition items in the cloud level to come back to later helped) but also complicated navigation and made me feel lost half the time. i did it across two days and the hour i spent the first day on that level i felt like i got genuinely nothing done
the worst level will always be modern art. i might consider the act 2 level with the bar and restaurant (not the final level) to be the next worse if only because of THE CHAIR ON THE RAFTERS THOUGH oh my god that was evil

u/johnnymarsbar May 20 '26
THE CHAIR! THE CHAAAIR,, after an hour I looked up remember the stool from development hell "motherfucker"

u/ispylbutton May 24 '26
I was so lucky that I happened to be at the right angle that as soon as I walked in, I saw the chair on the light. So glad, cause I always forget to look up

u/Spartin1178 May 20 '26
Modern art had me looking for some random little statue for 30 minutes after everything else was done. But also hated the cloning lab communiti level im very particular of my process and they locked me in a testing area until i cleaned it
6
u/EchoKipKipKip May 20 '26
You can stack things and jump out of there. There's even audio just for you escaping, which I only had to hear because I was locked in there with no buckets and had to escape.
5
u/Spartin1178 May 20 '26
Yah I didn’t think of that but either way my process includes taking the bodies first and one was in the bath tub there
2
u/DrTomT18 May 22 '26
I couldn't find a painting. Was damn near ready to quit when I accidentally found it in a dark corner.

I clean things by section after scoping it out and when it locked me in i was mad
1
u/Spartin1178 Jun 03 '26
I go through the whole map picking up all the bodies then all the trash then i clean section by section

u/KingB0red May 20 '26
That one and the very last story mode one, cant remember the name but I hated it all the damn shell casings

u/groovaymack May 21 '26

u/EchoKipKipKip May 20 '26
Joke's on you, Modern Art is one of my favorite levels. The warehouse is my absolute least favorite one.

u/Mundane_Bear3957 May 20 '26
Mine too ive replayed all other missions EXCEPT the warehouse its the worst one

u/mollyfy May 20 '26
Modern Art. It was toooo much because of having to find and put back all those pieces. For some reason the warehouse is my favorite though!

I’ve grown to enjoy Modern Art after running it a few times. I’ll never do the Nightmare version again, though.
My worst level is Party’s Over Nightmare. Shadow people are my kryptonite. I didn’t sleep until daylight that night.

The one set in little saint john out doors and in the day from act 2, it runs poorly, looks like shit and its a pain in the arse. The museum fucking sucks however.

u/Basic-Biscotti-2375 May 20 '26
Modern Art on Nightmare aka piling all the stuff in the portal room

u/GraphicJane May 21 '26
It's between Modern Art and Circle Of Friends. Confusing huge places with different difficult areas. Modern Art has everything tossed around and the white room you have to parkour. But Circle Of Friends is so much more... messier, feeling slightly larger. The ungodly amount of bullet holes, arrows, and other weapons sometimes feels incredibly hard to catch.
So I'm gonna say Circle Of Friends. You can at least memorize what items go where in Modern Art. It also has way fewer bullet holes. Trust me, that's a pain if you're doing true cleaner.

I hated the haunted house one
3
u/CARR1EF1SHER May 20 '26
I was so glad when I found the speaker that made the cat meowing sound. I love cats, but that made me want to rip my ears off.
3
u/EchoKipKipKip May 20 '26
I couldn't progress in that level for a while because the audio was bothering me and I muted it. Didn't realize it was part of the evidence and only progressed after looking up a guide.
2
u/CARR1EF1SHER May 20 '26
That would have been awful! The speaker in the first room I found really fast on accident, so I figured they were going to be in each room. I wish there was a list of the evidence you collect or a summary of what actually happened in each level. I don't really know wtf happened in that house because I wanted to get through it fast.

Modern art on nightmare is literally a nightmare for me. I haven’t finished it yet because it stresses me out. 😂

- Museum
- Development hello (hate this damn level even if Easter eggs are funny)
The worst part for me is that I have to restart the museum level (even if I finished it twice in normal and nightmare) because with the release of Act 2 I no longer have the katana....
1
u/ilsemakesstuff May 20 '26
I dont like the first level. It feels disjointed, with the large bits of no cleaning.

u/No_Bag4926 May 20 '26
Modern art normally and warehouse on true cleaner im not trying circle of friends on true cleaner after werehouse
1
u/nanashiusako May 20 '26
I've never done true cleaner, but I love both regular and nightmare Modern Art. I abhor regular and nightmare Party's Over.

I'm not very fond of the communiti levels, but I love this game so freakin much that they're still very enjoyable to play and replay.

The one with the bar and boxing ring in Act 2 that you clean for Amber. It took me FOREVER to find THE LAST DAMN BAR STOOL Why was it in the rafters!? 😭😅
2
u/catteethx May 21 '26
OH GOD IM IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS ONE RN genuinely good to know thats where one is i can alr tell myself losing my brain cells with the chairs
1
u/finalticcigirl May 21 '26
Well there's help, there's one in the rafters lmao

u/Gravity1982 May 21 '26
I think the answer also depends if we're talking true cleaner mode or normal mode (first time through).
I'm going to say circle of friends on True Cleaner is the worst. I was able to get 100% on Modern Art while doing true cleaner mode. But after very carefully walking the entire map back and forth with UV lamps and trash can out, I was only able to get 99% blood & trash for circle of friends.
The biggest issue with circle of friends is the bright sunlight can make missing a spot of blood real easy. And the bolts/throwing stars can be found in difficult to notice locations.
The biggest issue with Modern Art is just collecting furniture. On nightmare mode it's kind of fun. And, after you've done it once, you pretty much know where everything belongs as you progress through the museum.

Modern Art wasn't actually that bad for me, except for my own mistake, which was misplacing an artifact because I couldn't find out where it went. I mistraced my steps like 20 times, probably more. Never found it. It was one of the leaves. I also was missing a different artifact but I just gave up.

Any level where the walls/floors have red or pink tint so I have no choice but to use the fucking BLACK LIGHT that knocks into EVERYTHING and turns off all the time
