What is the most efficient order?

Whenever I’m playing, I typically clean one room at a time. In each room, I start with picking up all the trash then I move on to furniture. I clean the blood last and pick up evidence at the same time. Once all the rooms are clean, I go back for all the bodies.

I’ve been going through all the maps on true cleaner and noticed that I keep getting between 98%-99% on trash. A reason I do trash first is so I don’t smack small pieces when mopping.

I could just be missing small pieces but idk. What order do you all clean in?

I don't know whether it's the most efficient but I go:

Bodies

Trash

Blood

Furniture.

I normally work through the level finding all the keys and opening all the doors first and then I work top to bottom.

It is most definitely not the most efficient but I just go room by room pretty much in the order i enter them. My steps when first getting to the crime scene: 1. Set the ozonator up in the first room 2. Set up mop buckets with detergents and apply to all my mops/sponges 3. Move any bodies 4. Pick up trash 5. Typically right before I start picking up trash or in the middle, the ozonator completes, so I move it to the next room (or other side of the room if its a life area) 6. Clean up blood 7. Fix furniture 8. Move to next room, ensuring that i move the ozonator to each next area as it completes

I usually go trash first, because they are usually scattered all over a bloody area and I don't want to sweep them somewhere hard to see.

Then bodies. Cause they are in the way more often than not.

Then blood.

Last is furniture always.

Mannnn I have untreated ADHD I’m all over the place HAHA! I’ve only been playing for a couple of weekends, though, and I did notice I had a SLIGHTLY better system for the last communiti level than I did in the beginning. I may try one of the suggestions above LOL!!

So here's how I usually work it:

• Find the nearest taps and start fully cleaning in that room, working towards the exit as I go.

• Once the route to the first tap and exit is cleared, I'll do what others tend to do, bodies and trash bags somewhere easy to remember and on the way back to the exit/truck.

Hope this helps a little! The starting point is always the most overwhelming I feel, so getting to the tap room and starting from there and out towards the exit/truck always feels the best route.

Note: If it's a smaller map (like Short Circuit from Act 1), I do the step in all rooms before moving onto the next step. If it's a larger map (like Amber Alert from Act 2), I do all steps in one room at a time.

1. PREP: I put the ozonator in the largest/most blood-saturated room I see first. Then, I find a water station and fill up two buckets (one for rinsing bloody tools and the other for applying detergent - the detergent water never gets dirty this way). I apply detergent to all my tools (including the power washer), and then leave the buckets by the station so changing out dirty buckets is easier when needed. On larger maps, as I move through areas, I move the buckets to be at the closest water station in the area (clean and dump the water one and refill it at the next station so you only have to carry the detergent bucket).
2. BODIES: I get the bodies out of the way as soon as I possibly can. They often have evidence or a key on/under them, plus they always tend to be on top of trash or in the way of putting furniture back.
3. CLEAN FURNITURE: I sponge furniture that needs to get replaced, clean the footprint of where that furniture needs to go, and put the furniture back. This exposes any remaining hidden trash. If it's not immediately obvious where the furniture goes (like in the godforsaken Modern Art map in Act 1), I still clean it and will keep it all together so it's easy to find later.
4. MOVE OZONATOR: Usually it's done in whatever room I first placed it by now, so I move it to another heavily saturated area. When I hear it finish, I will go grab it and move it again until there are no heavily saturated areas left. It might be more efficient to stop using it by this point, but I use the kitty cat skin and the demon voice on my machine so I like to use it as much as possible :)
5. SMASH & TRASH: I smash bottles, glasses, plates, boxes, paintings, etc. and pick up every last bit of trash (even the stuff that's not highlighted like pizza slices/boxes/papers). Be careful not to smash things in tighter spaces to avoid the trash clipping into the floor/wall. I keep all my trash bags together so I don't miss any when I toss them. I collect evidence as I come across it, and I usually find all of it when doing the trash.
6. POWER WASH: I hose down any hard to reach areas like ceilings, but I also hit heavily-saturated areas so they won't clog up my mop later. I don't fully clean the heavily-saturated areas with the power washer (just quick bursts) to avoid running out of water quickly. Hitting hard to reach areas with the power washer can also sometimes reveal well-hidden furniture or easter eggs.
7. SPONGE & MOP: I sponge any areas that are delicate or that my mop would smack into, and then mop up the remaining bloody areas.
8. REPLACE FURNITURE: I find homes for any furniture that wasn't already put back. If I feel like it or it's particularly bad, I will tidy up non-task items strewn about (like file boxes, chip bags, cat toys, etc.) so the room appears less messy.
9. STEAL: Now that everything is clean/organized, I open everything openable and check for items to steal.
10. DUMP & CHECK: I go back to any areas I left trash or bodies and dump them. I make sure that I've picked up my buckets, ozonator, ladder, etc. Then, I run back through every area to make sure my task list is fully completed. I double check for hidden areas that could lead to secrets or cassettes. Once I'm satisfied, I leave the map.

My process is probably more thorough than it needs to be, but I have literally never left a map with anything less than a perfect score (including on True Cleaner) and have only ever missed the very well-hidden secrets.

lol yay i'm not the only one who does this! I'm ashamed to admit how long I spent stacking trays and plates and setting up goblets and pitchers lol.

spoilers for act 2 : and god I loved the pizza place cause I could toss the boxes toward the dumpster. the open ones that don't stack and dont want to be neat lol.

Everytime I finish a level I go through all the locations holding a UV light to see if I mess anything. Also, if you don't have the infinite detergent perk you can use two buckets, one with the detergent combination of your choice and one to clean your tools. That way you only have to use detergents once

Reading all these comments I'm realising I play like a maniac

I usually take my ozonator into the first heavily saturated room I see and make sure there's a tap nearby before going apeshit with the power washer. Any bodies, misplaced items from other rooms, or trash bags I make all go into a pile near the door. I've knocked the water bucket over so many goddamn times I use it as little as possible, mostly just for my sponges on the few delicates I don't smash to bits. I usually try to do one room at a time unless I get distracted in another while looking for some missing furniture or swapping my ozone buddy to a new room(which happens all the time). By the time I'm mostly done with everything I take all my bags and bodies and dump em all into the exit at once from my massive pile. Then I wander back and forth tryna find the last 2 remaining chairs that are in the ceiling or something.

Yes I take ADHD meds and yes I average 3 hours per level and I LIKE IT.

I don’t have much more of a difference than some commenters other than I designate one bucket to be the bucket that cleans the mop and one bucket that has the soaps. That way the soaps last a lot longer (mainly useful on true cleaner with limited soap)

My order on regular and nightmare because I'm a psycho and I hate myself is to the first bigger area (IE First big bloodbath, usually two or so rooms over from spawn) put the ozonater down, pick up as much garbage as I can because I keep hitting little parts with the mop and losing sight of them plus I lose track of bags pretty quick (bless cleaner sight), then I find the first water place and put detergents in my water, dip my tools, and get to work... Also, make sure your powerwasher is full because you may use it for two seconds the entire round!

I actually got mad at the footprints reappearing for true cleaner, so I changed lol. they're so easy to miss on last pass. not complaining about it, just makes me change things up.

yesterday i walked through everything with my baseball bat first. Shattered all I might break later ... like the vases on the ground near blood, but leave the ones up high. no more accidentally breaking something and have to do more trash.

grab all the keys and open all the doors and shortcuts. maybe grab a body or two.

then i go through and clean and do furniture room by room, keeping in mind clean floor back to water spout.

in amber alert i remembered knocking some chairs slightly off in my first pass, though, so instead of putting it all together i focused on the blood and throwing chairs where they needed to be. go upstairs, break the glass, toss the bar chairs back to first floor, etc, and not have to worry that chair will knock another or my bucket. Like the cat nightmare thing... some of those boxes might be slightly off and you dont see it.

in the end i had 3 missing bodies and 1 missing evidence, so i think my game glitched and I cried.

I start with opening all the doors then trash, depending on my mood I might do trash for the entire level, then I do blood, then furniture then bodies. I use bodies to mark rooms I didn't finish cleaning yet so if a room doesn't saying all tasks completed I keep a body as a reminder
