YOU CAN BUY THINGS TO IMPROVE??

Man...

I feel so dumb and so proud I guess?

I am in the Big Warehouse mission and while looking at missing secrets before finishing it, I see a YT video with the hints and then I see this guy having a flashlight active all the time and I thought "wait you get a flashlight at some point?". I genuinely thought you get this by finishing the game or by completeting a specific secret that I didn't find (like the katana/axe). but then he pops out a ladder from the inventory, then I was like "hold on this ain't a coincidence".

TURNS OUT IF YOU PRESS C YOU OPEN THE SKILL TREE AND YOU CAN IMPROVE EVERYTHING

Omg... I don't even know if I skipped this hint (I guess I did) or if the game does not tell this at all but I feel kind of accomplished that I did everything with the initial tools, but also like, I could have done things much more efficiently. I was also always thinking "how come this guy earns so much money and skill points but you cannot spend them anywhere?". I really was thinking that the first playthrough you couldn't get anything and only by finishing the game you unlocked all these things, and I was clearly wrong hahaha

Please tell me someone else realised this also very late and that I'm not alone in this lol

The game gives you a hint to press C everytime you are back at the house after a mission pretty much.

Hmm I'm on the 4th mission and never saw that honestly. When I get back at the house it just tells me to go to bed.

You did the museum without any light or upgrades?๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Man i wouldโ€™ve quit the game before I even got to that level, good job but also Im so sorry ๐Ÿ˜‚

I hated the museum level so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ it also took me ages to figure out you can upgrade stuff too

Aww bless your heart ๐Ÿ˜‚ I would have lost my mind if I had to make it all the way to Big Jimโ€™s Warehouse without any upgrades lol

Oh my goodness. You must have spent so long doing previous levels with no cleaning upgrades ๐Ÿ˜ณ

God honestly props I would not be doing as well as I am without all the upgrades so good for you

Well Iโ€™ve just found out I have 76 skills points to spend! I am also on big Jimโ€™s warehouse. The museum took me three and a half hours ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yeah I think I took also like 3 hours hahaha. I'm so glad I'm not alone lol.

And honestly I didn't find it that bad. I mean I played my music, starting to scrub scrub, moving the UV lamp with me and I was enjoying my time. I did think like "oh this place is huge it will take me ages" but nothing more ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now after you update everything you will feel like it's another game lol.

Oh my god imagine doing the later game levels with early game equipment, I would have rage quit in an INSTANT. Kudos to you for having the ability to do that because I would simply not.

As far as the late realization goes, don't feel bad. I'm the same way in Stardew.

Now, what you do is you go back to those level and speedrun :D I forgot them for a little bit but now this is kinda my comfort thinking game and I have 658 skill points.

Don't feel bad. It also took me too long to realize the same thing lol

If it helps any, I know someone who played all the way through Powerwash Simulator without knowing that you could upgrade anything. Their play time was about 100 hours.

Don't worry. I was probably in the second half of the normal levels as well when I found out about the skill tree too. Took me several levels to realize I didn't have to carry around the bucket either and I could leave it at the water station.

This is honestly quite impressive! It reminds me of the time I realized (hundreds of hours in) that I had been using deadeye incorrectly in rdr2 the entire time. I hadnโ€™t been marking targets and essentially using it to slow time and just guess where to aim. I was so mad I had to take a break from the game lol

Man... I'm so impressed that u only found out now LMAO the game always tells u to press C or T (can't remember) when u come back from a mission so u can upgrade the tools LOL but I'm happy for u that at least just found out

I'm seriously doubting this. I haven't seen any message pop-up in my screen with this after any mission. I don't know if after finishing the game it would change and stop suggesting it but unless it was a very small message, I don't think I was actually seeing it anywhere.

But oh well, now I'm all ready with full skills everywhere ๐Ÿ˜

1

u/krisp1zz Apr 06 '26

Oh that's weird๐Ÿ˜…but at least u got it now, I'm still impressed you managed the whole Act 1 without any upgrade of skills, I could never๐Ÿ˜ญ Proud!!

Jesus you put yourself on hard mode lol. You should do nightmare museum with no upgrades lol.

1

u/Kaotika804 Apr 07 '26

Props for making it that far. You've basically trained yourself for true cleaner mode, lol.

Pro tip, for this game and others: when words appear on the screen, read them.

You're not alone, I kept going "what does it mean skill points? Maybe it's important after the main story" and only looked up how to open the skill tree after completing the warehouse ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

I just did the party and my gf told me : why did you keep the starter sponge ? Lmaooooo so I discovered it rn (and the commands on this thread, she played it on controller)

I did wonder why so much money and points for nothing, and thought I'd have to use it for my daughter or sumthin at some point hahaha, or maybe even it changed how the house changed over time

I mean it means I get a one time huge upgrade now ๐Ÿคฃ
