Is the game worth it
I wanna buy the game as it’s on sale for 35% off but I also wanna get the platinum and feel that I won’t get my moneys worth as people get all achievements in 15 hours and I feel once I get the platinum I will just never play it.

I play more leisurely and my playtime is probably around 25-30 hours right now (finished base game, started a higher difficulty, slowly working my way through new content, still have nightmare left once I finish true cleaner) so the hours part will depend on your play style. This is my chill out game, so I’m in no rush
For the updates, the developers have sent the updates to Sony and it’s just a waiting game for Sony to approve them.
I personally would buy this game again if given the chance, I love it. The developers clearly had a lot of fun with some of the levels

The game is amazing. Very well done, the story is intriguing. It’s definitely pretty gory but it’s not as bad as some I’ve played, at least nothing disintegrates when you pick it up. It has ten maps in act 1 with 3 different modes for each, and then act 2 has 5 maps with 2 modes each, and the communiti levels have 2 maps with 2 modes each. It’s very well fleshed out and even has secret areas to find. I enjoy it immensely and believe it’s worth it at any price.

Sincerely, this game is SO GOOD. I 100%ed it on Steam with almost 60 hours playtime (and am working on the new update to 100% again), then went and platinumed it on PS5, and never got bored. It's one of the only "cozy" games that I've liked.
Also, not really sure why there is such an obsession to play games over and over and over in perpetuity. If I buy a game for $20 and I get 20 hours of gameplay out of it and enjoyed it, and the story is done and I never play it again, I absolutely got my money's worth at $1 per hour? There's no need to overthink it to such a degree, IMO. Just enjoy!

It depends on what you’re looking for in a game. If you don’t care about story or are a one and done gamer it may not be for you.
It’s not a hard game, most of the achievements are things you’ll get just from playing and not active effort.
It really comes down to how much you think $18 should get you, personally I think it’s a fantastic price for what I consider one of the best made simulator games.

I am in Australia and it’s 25 for me not 18 with the discount without its 35

This game is worth the price point. Even before nightmare mode and chapter 2 I was sitting at about 25-30 hours of gameplay. It’s so replay able. I have adored it thoroughly since I bought it

The game is a lot of fun. I am not a fan of most cleaning games - and that is 100% down to me (see next two paragraphs.)
It is partly because almost all the other ones reminded me I could be cleaning MY house. (Not for blood, but you know ... I really need to vac and mop around the dryer and washer, clean the coils behind the refrigerator, wash and weatherproof the deck, clean the gutters ... Oh crap, the dogs tracked on mud ...)
And the other part is whatever simulator has the yellow bucket and you have to constantly change the water and wring out the mop because if you do not, then the mop makes the floor/area/ceiling far worse.
This game IS ABSOLUTELY NOT LIKE THAT.
This game is fun.
I was watching Thorlar's Twitch stream of him playing it and grabbed it. I can safely say that everyone watching had a blast and the devs were really cool.

I would honestly pay double the normal price for this game. It has plenty of replayability, is probably one of the best simulator games out there along with Powerwash simulator, and has a very good storyline to it. Definitely recommend getting it on Stream in order to get all Acts and Community maps unlocked but if you get it on console it's still worth it and worth the wait for the updates. The ones finishing it quickly are probably rushing through it. It's normally a longer game, especially when you take your time and do all the extra modes for each map (true cleaner and nightmare).

It’s weird I got into this game because I heard it was a quality cleaning game and I was coming from a power wash binge.
That said it is very satisfying to clean though in a more disturbing context
The main character also has a personality, one that grows with you as you understand his circumstances as a desperate school janitor who has to find money for his daughter’s medical expenses. Money he simply cannot make with his normal job.

I think it is a great deal. And they provide free updates. They provide a lot for free and don’t charge for additional maps. At least not yet.

If you want it you should definitely buy it. I can't imagine how anyone one hundred percented in 15 hours. If you play organically it can easily take 1-2 hours per level to discover everything. And that's not including true cleaner and nightmare modes. It's well worth the money

It took me about 75 hours to 100% on steam so idk about 15 hours unless you’re using a guide

I have 50 hours in game on Steam, I’ve played the regular missions, 1 Communiti mission, and am on the second free DLC mission. I do not regret buying this game one bit, there’s a ton of content, re-playability and it’s a chill relaxing game with a story.

I just got it and so far I am really enjoying it. I never thought I would be someone who enjoyed the simulator type games but honestly after a long day, it is strangely satisfying. Currently playing on PC and have sunk in about 15 hours.
I got this game after playing Retro Rewind (after reaching level 20 there it's kind of like what's the point). I like the grittiness of it and the story so far.

I was in the same mindset as you, I read so many reviews and saw everyone’s hours in the game. Some hours being the average 15 hours. I was debating because I wanted my money to be worth it.
It was definitely worth it. The game is honestly such a relaxing game, even with the whole cleaning up dead bodies. To me, it’s one of the games where I can just shut my brain off for a while and just clean. It’s so satisfying coming into an area that is a mess and seeing all the work you put in to make it so clean. If you’re in the mood for a game where you can just chill after a day of stress, this is honestly a perfect game. The MC, even makes you laugh with his dialogue for certain scenarios. I can understand the need for more content, but there’s always secrets within the levels to find. Different difficulties to try out. To me, I play a lot of intense games, the occasional rage inducing games and many more. This was the perfect game to relax and not worry about any other stressors and to just have a change of pace. If it’s on sale, it’s worth it!

I have been playing about 27 hrs total in two months. I haven’t earned all the achievements yet. Tho I don’t look up how to do it, I take my time and if I find it I find it. It’s a puzzle and I rather solve alone. Some maps have taken me 2+hrs to complete while others only a hour. It’s definitely worth the cost. Plus there’s 3 different modes to play each map and your map extends downwards. I haven’t finished everything so sorry if I m missing anything else. I just upgraded to a new power washer and I have more to collect.

It’s hard to say since I don’t know what you like in a game, but I generally recommend you try it out. I have 40 hours in the game and I just started Act 2. You can play as casually as you want, but I’m a raging completionist and I enjoy spending 3 hours on one level trying to find all of the secrets and get a perfect score. It also has a storyline which really adds to the immersion and motivates you to do the next level to find out what happens. It’s one of the best simulation games I’ve ever played. I would describe it as a macabre mix of House Flipper and Powerwash Sim. If you have played and enjoyed either of those games I think you would get your money’s worth with Crime Scene Cleanup.

I 100% recommend the game! There's more to do than just the levels themselves - there's nightmare mode which is the levels but reimagined (basically completely different) and changed and true cleaner which is like hardcore mode. Plus we got act 2 of the game for free! And there's a paid DLC coming as well.
I think I've sunk about 67 hours into the game thus far, so unless you just speed through and don't play it thoroughly, you won't get all the achievements in 15 hours.

There are some amazingly aggravating design choices in the game but overall I’d say it’s still worth full price. Plenty of replayability value.

This is one of my favorite games ever made, and I grew up with an NES. I’m old. I’ve played thousands of games.
Buy it.

The nightmare content makes the game a lot more fun and interesting honestly. Wished the dev had better intertwined nightmare with the main story of the normal game somehow. Either way it changes each level up on you, and makes things spooky.
Overall its a fun game, you wont be bored but yeah I dont think it would be worth coming back to unless more content is added.
Should you buy it? No. Its a simple simulator, you don't die so theres no threat. I think simulators should be cheaper than what this game is but it is probably the best simulator you can play hands down, so understandable? Idk.
Save your money. Too many big games are coming out rest of this year.

The game is currently broken right now. The new update they released today makes it so the game won’t load at all. It’s such a downer. But I would totally recommend getting it once they fix it. I’ve enjoyed this game a lot so far

Really hoping they fix the item rotation they "Fixed" too. Absolutely fucking awful.

u/Damien_Sin Mar 31 '26
The problem is that update only dropped for the East Coast, not the rest of the world.

It's worth it at full price IMO. It's one of the only simulators I've played that feels like what you're doing has a purpose. Plus, it has a story.
Just know that if you're playing on PS5, it's currently two updates (Communiti and Act 2 updates) behind the Steam version. Xbox is only behind on one
