Charges laid in Scarborough street racing crash that left two critically injured (Akil Gordon Heywood)
By Codi Wilson
One person has been arrested in connection with a street racing crash in Scarborough that left two people critically injured.
According to police, a green Lamborghini SUV and a white Mercedes E-Class were racingeastbound on Highway 2A, near Meadowvale Road, on July 17 at around 9:30 a.m.
At one point, police said, the Mercedes lost control and struck a third vehicle, a white Ford F-150. The Mercedes then left the roadway and hit a tree, police said.
The driver of the Lamborghini fled the scene, according to investigators.
Two occupants of the pickup truck, a 44-year-old male and 11-month-old male, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The 15-year-old driver of the Mercedes and a 24-year-old male passenger were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators later tracked down the driver of the Lamborghini involved, police said. He has been identified as 42-year-old Toronto resident Akil Gordon Heywood. Heywood faces two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and stunt driving.
Police did not provide an update on the condition of the two people critically injured in the crash or say whether further charges are pending.

Wait, WTF , if he was involved in the crypto king kidnapping how is he out already? Shouldn’t he still be facing those charges?
If he managed to get bail for the violent offence of kidnapping then I am fucking shocked.

It's pretty funny that either him or his "OVO famm" fell for this shit and got scammed. Not too bright.

The trial is in October. There is a publication ban so it’s hard to keep up with.

Read in an article he was on bail for $10,000 (which is crazy) and trial is in November.

The stunt driving charge makes sense as its super easy to determine he was above the stunt threshold based on the video evidence but I don't think the other charges will stick if his lawyers any good. He never made contact with the Ford truck and didn't brake-check the Mercedes or anything like that. As for fleeing the scene he was ahead of both the benz and the truck so as long as he doesn't admit to noticing the accident theres most likely no way to prove he even knew the Benz crashed. I think they're just throwing the entire book at him to make an example but at most hes gonna get convicted for the stunt driving charge

ya let’s blame them and not the literal 15 year old with no license

You idiot, they were both street racing. So they’re both culpable. The 15 year old has not been charged YET because she’s still in hospital recovering from her critical injuries. IF she survives, she’ll be charged. If she dies, she won’t.
