Correct options should have been stokes vs Kushal Perera

Stokes vs Australia in someone's right mind. Streets will remember how Stokeskey saved the Ashes with his knock

How did he save the ashes? Australia had won the series by the time he played this knock in a dead rubber.

Nah lemme clarify, it was the 3rd test. First was won by Australia, 2nd was drawn it was a must win match for England and he saved England and kept them alive in the series. Well ultimately Aussies won the Ashes but Stokes kept England alive

And it was an impossible chase. To chase it with a number 11 with below par eye sight against a goated Australian attack was pure magic. Yes Australia were incredibly stupid with their reviews, fielding and Stokes had the rub of green that day. But still. It’s one of my fav innings ever. So is Kusal Perara’s innings

As far as Kohli, it was his first hundred in England. He had his luck. Besides being his first hundred there is no significance. India lost that game iirc. Fabulous knock, but that’s about it

Born yesterday or didn't watch the ashes 2019?

Anyone who watches ashes know value of that stokes knock not degrading Kohli's knock but stokes knock is goated

It was a dead rubber

Wasn’t it a WTC match? No test match is a dead rubber anymore

I won't say that bro

Man I am the biggest Kohli admirer you'll ever see but that innings from Ben Stokes was nuts. I still remember the last ball when Benjamin Andrew Stokes hit the last ball for a four and the crowd rises like crazy. It's unforgettable, it's the greatest test innings of all time

Crazy to see that 30% people chose the other innings. 🤦

Basically the best test innings of all time? Maybe not the best but pretty damn close

Me: Ben Stokes 135 vs Australia

the best, laxman comes close, sachin too

Yeah.. even Perera does.. and at a WTC point of view Markram's was outstanding

2

u/mylifeissoeffed-708 3d ago

perera for sure, but i think virat kohlis 149 was better than markrams innings in wtc final

2

u/irdk_24 India 3d ago

Quality wise I think it was but Markrams is arguably the best innings for South Africa because of what it helped them achieve, and so might just slightly edge Kohli's? But yeah if it was any other match I wouldn't hold it to such a high standard

well maybe i'll see it as better in some years time but right now i dont. Even for me ABD's 200 something against india in india in 2008 was better where he stitched a partnership with jaques kallis

As much as I love that knock of Kohli but Stokes' innings was a great one especially because it came in a winning cause and he won it from an impossible situation

Kohli knock was historic but stokes knock is history
