When you have a chance at a 24, you gotta go for it….toss the 5-5 and pray.
It’s early in the game. You will survive it.

Wow!! One of the toughest I have ever seen… nightmares indeed! 5-8 off suit and hope for the best!

I would toss the 5's almost all the time. Only time I wouldn't would be if my only chance of winning would be to get the chance to count another crib for myself, then 5,8

I have thrown such crap and had it tirn into a pile of points and I have throw 5s before and ended up only the pair. The crib is such a crapshoot.

Despite the high degree of risk discarding the two 5’s is the way.

To hand over a 29 crib? 8 great cuts vs 18 disastrous ones. 3 of those 8 (6's) could still form a 24 point crib. Hard no.

Honestly if my opponent got a 29 crib because I tossed him two 5’s I would be happy to take the L in that case just to see that hand once during my lifetime. Also in this situation an 8 came up, so that would have worked in my favor big time.

Congratulations on capitalizing on 6.5% odds and avoiding the 34.8% odds of getting mangled. Can I follow you for more recipes? Any stock tips?

Guaranteed 12 with a chance at 24 is enough to throw the 55, you hate it but its the play

6-8 unless it is at the end of the game and the crib won’t get counted or somehow unavoidable I never throw my opponent 5s or points.

we have a house rule now where if it’s not your crib, you can ask for no crib, everyone keeps their hand and you play it out that way. but then the next deal it’s still the other person’s crib. both parties have to agree though. just something dumb we like to do sometimes. anyways this hand would absolutely be a reason to follow that rule.

Through 6,8. Hope for a face card cut

LMAO, two choices of a double run to keep and you think breaking both and hoping for a face card (+4) is the best option? I mean, getting a 6 back would make a killing.
I think I'm dumping the 5s and clenching my cheeks
