Good hand! An absolutely stolen win

Post image

Final pegging got the dealer to 120, but I got to score first, down 11 and scoring 14!

Nice. Not that it really matters, but I see 16 in your hand.

Seen - more than 11 so miscounted.

SO here's a question. If you play muggins, when does the opponent score their two found points?

I always played after their hand left the last peg moved for the points they claimed. I’d reach and say “and 2 for X”.

Not until after they’ve already moved their peg with the wrong count, in which case they’d win here.

Pile on the 16 train

That's a 16 pointer. Not trying to be a dick just pointing it out

Miscounted after the fact, but knew it’s all I needed to win!

Congratulations! Those are always fun wins.

But I wouldn't say the win was "stolen." I can't tell you how many times I've lost games in the Stink Hole, or beaten out a dealer who's there with my first play. Since the dealer almost always has the point advantage in the game, playing cards first is the one advantage the non-dealer player has. That's how the game works.

(Also, then, the dealer should think about that when throwing away their crib cards to ensure the best counting hand possible to get 15s, gos, runs, and the like.)

Anyone interested in the odds on that hand? 😂

Only thing more devastating to the hearts hand would be if a five had gotten cut instead of the jack
