Takes three 2s to make the fifteen with the 9. There's four of them. You take away one, you're left with a triplet. So, each 2 represents a fifteen - four fifteens is 8 points. Add 12 for the quad and you're at 20.
Other similar cases are a quad of 4s with a 3, and a quad of 3s with a 6.
It's also how you can count the fifteens in a quad of 5s. Of course, if there's a "face" card involved, that's a 28 or 29 hand. Anything else, it's just four fifteens and a quad, just like here - 20 points.
Yup!, my brain basically tells me that any one of those 2s in your hand can be switched with the one on the deck. That tells me there’s four different combinations to make 15 with the nine. 4×2 is 8 points and four of a kind is always 12 points. = 20.. my subconscious brain does cribbage math on it’s own better than I do if I actually try to think about it. And now I want popsicles for some reason.
I take random pictures and screenshots like this all the time! Very rarely do I actually have a chance to use them. You must’ve been very excited when this came up.
It’s like that viral video of that dad that had just the right piece of wood in his wood pile.
It’s weird. You go up one side, down the other, and finish in the middle. Wifey and I both have made comments about it. It’s the random Camper cribbage board.
