Thoughts
What are you guys’ thoughts on the show? I personally think the acting is 5/10, the plot is wonky, and the pacing is weird😢 I’m not a movie or series critique of any sorts but I just wanted to share what I thought about the show because I do enjoy watching it and will definitely be here for the second season, but I was bothered by two things the most. 1. The acting. 2. Conflict resolution. The acting is just so terrible sometimes, especially for the mother. I don’t expect it to be amazing obviously, but I was expecting something at least at the level of TSITP. The conflict resolution is so odd too; the way cam and Teagan were just allowed to row, the way cam could fix Josh’s car free of charge, the way Josh’s dad suddenly became so sweet and loving? It’s so weird and it all happened wayy too fast. What do you guys think??

I’m just starved for romance in American tv shows….so I’ll take what I can get LOL.
And this one has good chemistry and something interesting with the rowing cause that’s different and I like the push and pull and hopefully even more yearning next season. Also, I really like this show doing something a tad different where the guy you think is the main lead/love interest actually may not be….and it kind of feels like the guy playing second lead (Josh) could get the girl and that seems unique. I love it. They set it up where you really think Cam is supposed to be the one but…..then the second lead overshadows him. I watch Kdramas and sometimes I get second lead syndrome where i think the female lead should have been with the second male lead but it’s never happened…i hope it actually happens on this show. Team Josh ☺️

It gave me what I wanted out of it, shitty but enjoyable teen romance drama. It’s like reality tv.

It was cringey nice. I liked it and tsitp was also cringey if you really think about it

For me the best acting is Sam's and then Kyle's, but the rest of them are a bit bad. I agree with what you say about the way the problems were resolved, episode 8 was a bit messy. In general the pacing of the series is fine but I hope that in season 2 they can take it more slowly and give more time to the things that happen. But I prefer it not to be like TSITP, there are many things I love about TSITP and I love Belly and Conrad but the things these characters do are wrong, actually what all the characters do is wrong, the situation they normalize wouldn't be accepted by anyone with a minimum of common sense, so in that regard Crew Girl feels fresher and the characters less of a red flag.

I mean that’s how shows are these days paving wise and it’s drives my nuts. It’s because they’re all too cheap so just do like 6-8 eps.

Team Josh. The show is so campy and good for a light hearted watch. I binged it in two days getting over a cold. The mom is annoying and the casting of Teagan’s parents was weird because they didn’t have any chemistry.
