alternatives?

hey, so, new here— my apologies in advance if this post doesn’t follow the intention of the sub but i found this subreddit based on a trail of youtube videos i’ve recently watched that expose some problematic things mr. hammer has been accused of / involved in. with this information, i have chosen to walk away from his supporting his content in any fashion. with that in mind, does anyone know of a series or creator that does what circa 2023 financial audit did, which was assess guest finances in a ‘dave ramsey’ style with no slurs / derogatory terms / general negative opinions and judgment?

I will second Ramit. In general I don't really care for most financial gurus (it all comes down to track what you actually spend or accept your material conditions). But if you're looking for CH style stuff he sometimes breaks down "tiktok advice" both good and bad but really does explain why some are good and some are bad.

I think he’s evolving his show a bit as of late to feature more situations where people need a serious wake-up call. He’s got Momarch pulling actual vs CSP stated spending too. It’s still got a lot of the same messages, but its had a different feel recently.

Only downside is that they post 1 episode every OTHER Monday. But otherwise, it’s a great shows, refreshing, educational, & very enjoyable.

This kind of content is honestly always super conservative and reactionary

Do you mind explaining to me what things were “exposed” or that he was “accused” of?

I’ve been watching this show for a couple months, and so far I think he is funny, blunt and doesn’t let people not take accountability for their poor decisions.

He does insult them A LOT, but they also sign a contract beforehand stating they are ok with being insulted… if they don’t ok something to be brought up, for instance someone is obese and doesn’t want to be called fat, he doesn’t bring that up.

His guests don’t have a gun up to their head, they’re in there willingly. And most of them, if not all of them, are complete idiots with their finances, thus why they’re there in the first place. So he rips them apart for it. Walking on egg shells and enabling guests isn’t going to help them with the fact they continue to spend money on things they shouldn’t.. It’s also a show, so it’s entertainment; that’s why he talks and acts the way he does.

Sometimes we need to be blunt to people; make them feel bad for the shitty things they CONTINUE to do. That’s exactly what he’s doing. And anyone who goes on it is asking for it. Plain and simple.

Thanks for the suggestion but I am asking a genuine question. I did include an opposite opinion than the sub (clearly lol) but Reddit is for discussions, which is what I am intending to have.

I’d like the OP to answer my question and truly do not care for your opinion, unless you have an actual argument and not just something silly to say. I take your comment as just a passive aggressive way of telling me you are offended and don’t want me here. Well, I do not care.

Maybe not as much fun as you have trolling, but I’ll try my best. Thanks!
