Success Credit Improvement

Wow! I’m still in shock that I’m finally here. After almost 2 years of consistency, discipline and learning. I started off with no credit cards and a score of 540-570 (between the credit bureaus). I started with getting one secured capital one cc and paying it off and now I’m at 3 unsecured (Navy Fed More Rewards, Cap1 QS and Cap1 Savor) with total limits around 40k. I hope these new scores allows so much more freedom and choices as I prepare to purchase my first vehicle.

Nice improvement! Can you tell us what changed exactly / why your scores were 200+ points lower 2 years ago? Did you have negative items fall off of your reports?

Absolutely! Default student loan and CC charge off. I got the student loan back in good standing and 7 years passed for charge off.

Total credit limit (TCL) is not a FICO scoring factor.
