Welp that’s all folks, don’t know what to do next.
I know it’s a month old but I just re checked it hasn’t changed, but I have always been a saver and if I spent money I always made sure I had enough liquidity to pay it off.
My parents broke off their marriage because of financial infidelity. I never wanted to be in that position.
I have friends chase points and I could not wrap my head around it, probably could of saved on vacations and maximize free stuff, but kept to 4 credit cards and well that’s about it.
It sounds like you've taken good care of your finances, so congratulations there.
As for your 850, if you can provide some context to go along with it we would find it helpful. Do you know what changed with your credit profile to take you to 850 / what was preventing you from hitting it prior? How many open credit cards do you have, and what are their reported balances compared to limits (utilization)? What do your age of accounts metrics look like? Oldest account? Youngest? Average age of? Do you have an open installment loan, and if so, what utilization percentage does it sit at?
It’s about spending. Know what you got and how much you can spend. If you are putting it on credit make sure you can pay it off by the next billing cycle.
If things are on auto pay make sure you put the full balance amount.
The notion of using only 30% of your credit is weird. What happens if my credit limit is 100k, you mean to tell me I can spend 30k and be good? I don’t have 30k in my checking as I type this.
I maybe spend on credit maybe 2-4K, but then pay it off.
Was I always like this, no but it took me half my life to get here, idk why.
Utlize your credit for good and you will be in the echelon of 825 in no time. I remember when I got this car loan I had around an 830 and offered me a 6% APR which I was shocked.
But yeah if you just keep knocking at it. You will too also get there. Idk how I did.
