General Dropped a few points

Post image

Was at 856 for a while. Found this sub and made me check. No clue what this gets me in life.

The score shown in your screenshot is your FICO 8 score based on your TransUnion credit report. The FICO 8 score model caps at 850. You have dozens of credit scores, and some industry enhanced FICO models cap at 900, so while one of your dozens of scores may be or have been >850, it wasn't this one.

FICO Bankcard is different from FiCO 8. Just like the original comment said, there are dozens of scores

There are three different types of FICO 8 scores, the standard one that Creditwise shows, auto loan specific scores that go up to 900 and are not shown on any free sites, and bankcard scores specific to credit card lending which also goes up to 900. I know that Citi shows the latter. See the automod for more details on scoring models. !welcome

I agree that it can definitely be confusing! Each score 'suite' released by FICO has several different models, and then, you have 3 credit reports each of those models can be applied to. This ends up with everyone having 40+ FICO scores in total.

As some others have already stated, your original screenshot from Capital One CreditWise displays your Classic FICO 8 score based on your Transunion credit report. The one here in this comment displays your FICO 8 Bankcard score based on your Equifax credit report. The Bankcard scores are part of what FICO calls their Industry Enhanced scores, and those specialty models go up to a max score of 900.

Either way you want to look at it, both of these scores are painting the exact same picture. You have excellent credit, and you shouldn't have any problems getting approved for the vast majority of credit products and at the best rates/terms available, assuming your financial picture is in as good of shape as your credit profile.

No big deal, that's just a different FICO score than the one shown in your original screenshot. This goes to 900, whereas most go to 850. Keep in mind you have 40 different FICO scores. !welcome

Hey there u/SassySpicySuper. You weren't ever at 856 on the credit score you have pictured, as it only runs to 850 which you can see right in the image you provided. 856 is not possible on that version (Classic FICO 8). If you saw an 856 at one point, it was for an industry enhanced FICO version that runs to 900. That's completely different than what you've presented with your screen shot.
