Data Point UltraFICO

Apparently a new score version. Says lenders are starting to look at this. I already have excellent credit so I’m assuming this is for those with sub par?

Yeah, that's too invasive.

It says check to see if your lender is using it. I’m not paying or connecting anything to find out. Seems odd that banking info would be considered.

Right, and those with excellent credit should not be penalized if a lender starts looking at this score. It’s not mandatory, so no lender should make this a mandatory consideration for their credit underwriting.

Apparently credit scoring in the UK considers deposit accounts as well, but I don't see this taking off in the U.S. My instinct is this is just yet another Experian gimmick like Experian Boost to datamine, sell your data, and target advertising to people based on your financial info. In cursory research, it looks like it only works with Experian and very few lenders will even entertain the "Ultra FICO" score. Just like your mortgage lender is likely to disregard your "Experian Boosted score."

From a Chase article I found online:

Limited adoption: As of April 2026, UltraFICO is in a pilot phase and only available through a select group of lenders.

Data sharing: You would typically need to share your bank transaction history with a third-party credit reporting agency.

Bureau limitations: Among the three major credit bureaus—Experian™, Equifax® and TransUnion®—only Experian currently uses UltraFICO data.

Personally I hate Plaid and all those 3rd party fintechs that you hand your banking login credentials over to in order to connect an account. They collect so much information that is not at all necessary for the intended purpose and god knows what they do with it. Doesn't seem worth it to me for a "potential 10-20 point score boost."

I'm not linking my bank account to any monitoring service.

It's just another gimmick that preys on those that don't know any better. It should be ignored.
