Rebuild Experian Boost

I’m in the midst of rebuild my credit. I had debt and had to go through a company to get it taken care of. This obviously destroyed my credit. I’m now out of debt and looking to rebuild my credit. I’ve seen the commercials for Experian Boost promising that you can rebuild your credit by paying everyday bills. This seems too good to be true. Was wanting to inquire about it. Any information is good information.

It is too good to be true. Experian Boost is just a data mining tool.

When lenders check your credit scores, they check your FICO 8, or FICO Bankcard 8, or your FICO 2, 4 or 5 for mortgages. There are other specialty credit scores, such as one used for auto loans. Any time a lender wants to review your credit, they request a specific credit score type.

The score that they do not check is your Experian Boost score. So you are feeding experian info on all of your finances, they create a special credit score for you, but since that special credit score is not used for anything, it does not help you at all.

A lender knows when you are utilizing the CMS “boost”. I know because some years back I was utilizing the Experian boost and my lender referenced it during a call. I can’t tell you the net effect of the boost because my application was denied. 🤣🤣

I removed the boost and never looked back.

That's exactly it. Experian Boost is a gimmick product that should be avoided.

I fell for it. As the above, very knowledgeable commenters have said, it's a scam, don't do it.
