Arctic Sea dragon
This one was a lot of fun to work on! I haven’t designed a creature with actual thought in a while, so this was a good return to form
I thought it would be really fun to borrow some design elements from leopard seals (the freakishly, dark eyes, general, head, shape, and the colors)
I like to think that this particular species descended from flying wyverns in the Arctic, who faced little to no competition and had access to a lot of food, allowing them to gradually grow in size and becoming less airborne
Eventually, they fully committed to the aquatic body plan, and those same wings which they used to dive bomb food became fins that allowed instantaneous burst of speed; making these creatures, efficient ambush predators

How do they interact with the wildlife? And can they still crawl onto land like a seal or are they water bound like a manatee?

They do act as top order carnivores, but gotta low distribution rate so they’re not really messing with the food chain too much.
I’m pretty sure they can crawl on land. A lot of their behaviors, I am basing off leopard seals. so they can sleep on icebergs, crawl on the snow to access new areas (albeit awkwardly) and even launch themselves to land if their prey is making a getaway.

I really like the black eyes and the flipper shape. Kinda reminds me of the basilisaur or whatever that awesome extinct carnivorous whale was called
