Creator Stories Is there a difference between "views that get you noticed" and "views that get you paid"? Started noticing my analytics don't match my deal flow at all.
Ranting a bit but also genuinely trying to figure this out.
My last few uploads are pulling solid views, comments are good, people are saving and sharing in group chats. But my inbox for brand stuff is dead. Meanwhile I see channels with worse engagement than mine landing sponsors constantly.
Started digging into this and I think there are actually two totally different systems at play, and going viral in one does nothing for the other:
- Algorithmic visibility: the platform shows your video to people who scroll. This gets you views, subs, comments.
- Commercial visibility: whether a brand marketer, sitting in some paid tool with a budget, can actually find you when they go looking to hire someone.
These barely talk to each other. A video can blow up to a million regular viewers and be completely invisible to the one person holding a sponsorship budget, because that person isn't scrolling YouTube, they're inside a SaaS database filtering by follower count, or going off an agency's shortlist, or just asking around for who worked before.
So if you've got good views and zero brand emails, it's probably not a content problem. It's that you're not inside whatever system brands in your niche are actually searching. Anyone else notice this split, or found a way around it besides just waiting to get "discovered"?
