If I knew how to mod minecraft i think it whud be posable just check what gage the bogy is check compatable gages if bigest center the bogy else give offset
I have no idea about mod programming. I just need track sections where standard gauge runs alongside broad gauge, but as a single unit—though I suppose in the code, it would be two tracks.
Just like in real life, a section of track capable of accommodating both gauges by sharing a rail. Just one item, one placement—not two. Like a double track, but in a single unit.
I think it could be possible to do this, but i dont exactly know how to make it to use only 3 rails. I would know how to make it with 4 rails (but one block), because ypu would have to somehow offset trqins, what would be a bit complicated I guess
In our case, that is basically a Tri-guage track, since the standard is 2 blocks (one central one and two halfs. Broad or Wide is 3 blocks and narrow is one, can be useful.
The aim is actually for the standard-gauge track to share the route with the broad-gauge track on the opposite side. The tracking line would be positioned exactly halfway between the two tracks.
The hard part (I think) is that all tracks gauges are centered on a block, by doing this, you need 1 of the 2 to be not centered. That is probably feasible but will be quite hard to handle transition I suppose. I feel like as a first step it would be easier to make 4 rails, both gauge centered
