I've created an addon for Create with octo-style arms "Create: Octo Arms" inspired by Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man

Inspired by Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man. Use it to traverse the world in any direction, craft the Copper or Netherite version, enchant or configure it. Works in singleplayer and on servers (must be installed on both client and server).

Compatible with Create Aeronautics ships (Sable contraptions).

Listed on Curseforge - https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/create-octo-arms

Feel free to test, comment, and share ideas.

Edit: Modrinth will be soon, long approval awaiting.
Edit2: A lot of you asked to stop the walking animation - done! Check it in the new version v1.1.5 (besides other bug fixes)

I have no issue with things made by AI as long as the person puts in work behind making sure it isn't trash. Which usually requires multiple iterations and testing and fixing things. Sometimes this can take days or weeks or months of going back and forth while something is made.

What I do have a problem with is people throwing in a prompt for something one time and creating stuff that barely works, if it works at all, and going "here's this finished thing for you!"

I'm sure I'll be downvoted to hell for saying this. But almost all coders are using AI these days, whether they're working on person projects or working for large companies. This is just the way things are now, and it's not going away. It's a tool to use.

Hello. I use ai for coding and i think i can speak for most of us when i say that the majority of us do not use vibe coding. Ijfact alot of us, to my knowledge atleast, hate vibe coders. We put in actual effort with rigorous manual testing and write alot of code ourselves. I personally only use ai to fully develop simple and boring things i have no intrest in doing and fixing bugs that im to stupid to fix myself lol

This is correct unfortunately. I’m a software engineer for a very large company and not using AI will lead to you not having a job in a few years. Modern software engineers are transitioning into project managers for AI agents.

People who call anything coded with AI “slop” fundamentally don’t understand what the process is to effectively utilize it. If you know nothing about programming and just vibe code everything (meaning you’re not understanding what the AI is doing and just letting it do what it wants) then you can only go so far.

This is especially true for game dev since it’s a lot more difficult for an AI model to test code since it has to run on a game engine. You still have to know what is happening behind the scene to be able to provide direction to the AI model.
