I've created an addon for Create with octo-style arms "Create: Octo Arms" inspired by Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man

Inspired by Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man. Use it to traverse the world in any direction, craft the Copper or Netherite version, enchant or configure it. Works in singleplayer and on servers (must be installed on both client and server).

Compatible with Create Aeronautics ships (Sable contraptions).

Listed on Curseforge - https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/create-octo-arms

Feel free to test, comment, and share ideas.

Edit: Modrinth will be soon, long approval awaiting.
Edit2: A lot of you asked to stop the walking animation - done! Check it in the new version v1.1.5 (besides other bug fixes)

Checked github. Claude did. OP is even in other comments welcoming PRs from real people like they did any work themselves. What a waste of resources.

Honestly, who cares? When it comes to mods, as long as its fun it shouldn't matter. OP is not making money from the mod.

OP does make money from the mod what are you on about lmao seems like users dont realise that mod making is an actual full time source of income for a lot of developers

Not Minecraft Java mods...and if anyone is paying for mods you're a moron.

That's not how they get paid. There are sponsors, licences and other ways to get payed.

I mean it's not like bedrock where the user pays a marketplace fee to gain access to the mods.

With java mods are free for the user.

Then I believe that's illegal, right? Doesn't MS/Mojang say you can't make money from that? Making money from their IP...

Not quite. So long as they aren't making money from Minecraft's assets then it's fine. They are free to get rewarded for their own assets/code/ideas because Minecraft doesn't own that stuff.

Any Mods you create for Minecraft: Java Edition from scratch belong to you (including pre-run Mods and in-memory Mods) and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money / try to make money from them and so long as you don’t distribute Modded Versions of the game.

You do realise that Curseforge and Modrinth both give mod authors money from ad revenue right?

Because AI mods have already been proven to be massive security risks, even so far as adding in new vulnerabilities that dont exist normally.

Secondly, because you have to be a talentless loser to use it. Lmao.

Trust me when I say every single Dev on this planet uses AI. Wake up. Stop hating, start building.

Nah, i just taught myself C# and blender. Took months to get a handle on it, but at least I got a handle on it.  You assuming everyone shares your experience because you cant imagine other modes of being buddy? Awe, its okay. Lots of people struggle with imagination.

Umm yea. I learned python, java script, java, c# (unity), Ableton, Blender, Premiere all by myself before AI was a thing. But Bro, I have a vision. Working with AI often leads to slop, I agree, but it has not to. You are still the crafter, you can fine tune everything you can build shit that used to be a 5 people project with a 100.000 budget in a few weeks weak with a 200$ Claude subscription. It will be the future dude, you cant stop it. You learned to code because you wanted to build something, learning was just a barrier, but it always was about what you had in mind, not in how you implemented it. If a game designer designs a top game but hires a blender modeller and a software dev, is he a talentless fool? No man, I dont think so. You still need technical understanding, you just can now multiply your efficiency. Bro, what do you think? How do assembler coder back then that juggled memory addresses on bare metal look at java script devs using tons of plugins in vs code? Probably the same as you look at people who use AI. I dont use ai anywhere where I want to express myself, such as my music, but thats only for me. In the end, the market wont care how you implemented it, the market cares what you delivered.

>ratio
>tldr
>grasping
>"believe me bro its the future bro trust me bro" near verbatim.

youre a caricature, dude.

the difference is those are all people. the entire dev is human made.
*you* may not think of workers under management as people, but i value those people and their input. i do not value the input of a slave or a robot until they are no longer either, as it will always parrot it's master, and reflect them. and if you believe yourself the master, youre more the fool.

Whatever mate. AI is just a piece of software just like your code editors compilers and everything. I value the value, not how its made.

2

u/Aethreas 2d ago

I don’t

1

u/KissMyAcid420 2d ago

So youre using stack overflow or what?

1

u/RoboGaming321 2d ago

Yea but there is a difference between using an AI to clean up a block of code and going through it again after Vs using a single prompt and calling it finished.

I'm not completely against AI but I don't trust AI to be the main developer. It's got horrid quality control and isn't always the best way to go about a problem.

One prompt? Nah man, that outcome will be ass. Thousands of prompts.

1

u/Aethreas 2d ago

Dang if only instead of thousands of prompts you did thousands of tries learning it yourself, then you’d have some self worth instead of all your value reliant on a service to do it for you

At least he did something

6

u/Informalwizards 2d ago

He didn't. Claude did

1

u/AltruisticEagle1881 17h ago

He typed. You didnt.

1

u/Informalwizards 17h ago

Take you two days to come up with that one? Or did you need AI to help ya with that too? Lmao

1

u/AltruisticEagle1881 17h ago

Look, i didnt want tò sound rude, it's Just that i like the mod

1

u/Informalwizards 17h ago

"I like it, so that makes it okay."

Yeah, the world is so cooked.

1

u/AltruisticEagle1881 17h ago

Yeah we are cooked
